Chapter 20 The Crying Child Gets the Milk
Wan Chu’er’s words ignited something in Liu Li, who with a darkened face and clenched teeth said, "Wan Chu’er, if you dare, don’t leave after school."
Yesterday, Liu Li was talked to by the class teacher, Teacher Zhu, who warned her that if she continued to bully classmates and cause fights, her parents would be called in for a meeting. Worried her father would find out, she dared not strike Wan Chu’er right then and there, but neither could she swallow her pride and just give Wan Chu’er thirty yuan and let it go. So, she proposed a fight after school.
After school at lunch, she planned to find a secluded place and give Wan Chu’er a good beating, not believing she couldn’t defeat Wan Chu’er.
Upon hearing Liu Li’s words, Wan Chu’er knew Liu Li wasn’t giving up, and with a mocking smile looked at Liu Li and readily replied, "Alright, after school, in the little alley behind the school. Don’t be a no-show."
That smile momentarily puzzled Liu Li, but she quickly let it go, assuming Wan Chu’er was just bluffing and thought about calling Zhang Xiaoyu and a few others to teach Wan Chu’er a lesson after school.
Wan Chu’er stopped paying attention to Liu Li, who snorted and then entered the classroom.
A little while later, Wan Chu’er saw Zhang Xiaoyu arrive, munching on a pancake and apparently lost in thought.
Wan Chu’er quickly positioned herself in front of Zhang Xiaoyu.
Zhang Xiaoyu looked at Wan Chu’er blankly and upon recognizing her, couldn’t help but step back, "Wan Chu’er, what do you want?"
"Let’s swap seats."
