I was still inside the training room when Amelia walked back up to me. Her expression was filled with eagerness and just a hint of stubbornness.
“Naoki, you promised to train me, remember?” she said, locking her eyes with mine.
For a second, I considered refusing. I was tired, and my body still ached from everything that had happened earlier. But then I remembered—my word is my bond. I had made a promise, and Amelia was clearly excited. There was no way I could let her down.
Out of nowhere, Envi’s voice rang loudly in my head, sounding like an overexcited child.
“Hey Nao, damn it! Let me train with her instead! Hehehe! You just sit back and rest, this is my moment with Amelia!”
He was practically bouncing with excitement. I had nearly forgotten that he’d been asking for a chance to spend time alone with her.
With a sigh of resignation, I muttered in my thoughts, “Fine, do whatever you want.”
Without hesitation, Envi seized control of my body. I could feel his overflowing enthusiasm from the inside, and I could even imagine the huge, goofy grin spread across his face.
“Alright, Amelia. I’m going to attack you now, so be prepared and protect that chest of yours! I mean—yourself!” Envi said with no shame at all.
I groaned internally. Seriously? He just had to say that out loud.
Amelia let out a playful laugh and took her stance. “Come at me, Naoki. I’m ready!”
