Chapter 110: Valg the Time-Cursed Emperor
Amelia’s POV:
I have now taken on the role of leader, a position left to me by Naoki. He entrusted me with the responsibility of commanding Lyra, Freya, Marius, Leopold, Luna, and Hendrik’s team. We had all agreed on this plan—only Naoki could take on Volx in a one-on-one battle. That left me with no choice but to lead this group in defeating Valg, the dungeon boss.
I recalled Naoki’s words, his unwavering confidence in me. He believed I could defeat Valg because of my Divine Magic, the natural weakness of Cursed-type monsters. Every time I remembered his words, I couldn’t help but smile. But deep down, a question lingered in my heart—had I truly become strong? Was I worthy of fighting by his side? Just thinking about it made my heart race.
Naoki was always in my thoughts, whether I was happy or annoyed. No matter what, he was the best. But before I could get lost in those feelings, the imposing presence of Valg yanked me back to reality.
A towering statue-like creature with six ominous wings stretched behind it, as if a once-holy sage had been petrified and cursed. Its crimson eyes glowed menacingly, a sign that it was under the control of the demon, Vorx.
I had already devised a strategy—not only to defeat Valg but also to free it from Vorx’s control. This plan would also resolve the ridiculous bet between Naoki and Cain over Freya. If I defeated the dungeon boss myself, neither of them would win, and Freya would be free to return to us.
Honestly, I wouldn’t have minded if Naoki had been the one to take down Valg, claim victory over Cain, and "win" Freya. Knowing him, he was a complete pervert, so it wouldn’t surprise me if he ended up with a harem of wives in the future. But right now, I was the only one who could defeat Valg. I was going to give it my all! I wanted Naoki to praise me, to reward me with something special—hehe~.
For now, I needed to focus on this damn dungeon boss! Then, I could return to my beloved Naoki~.
—I divided the team into three roles. The Main Attackers were me, Freya, and Luna. The Second Attackers consisted of Leopold and Hendrik’s team. Lastly, the Supporters, Marius and Lyra, would provide essential assistance.
Our strategy was straightforward. The Main Attackers would engage Valg head-on. The Second Attackers would target any openings and disrupt the boss’s balance. Meanwhile, the Supporters would strengthen our attacks, defend us, and create opportunities for counterattacks.
After Naoki separated Vorx from Valg, the dungeon boss immediately turned its aggression toward us. It unleashed [Curse of Swamp], a spell that slowed our movements drastically. Then, with its colossal foot—large enough to crush an entire clock tower—it attempted to stomp us into oblivion.
