Chapter 66: The Eternal Nightfall: A Brother’s Resolve
Envi’s control slipped further as his rage spiraled out of control. He relentlessly attacked Morgan, even as the demon lay on the ground, struggling to stand. Dark Magic poured out from him, and the pressure weighed heavily on the students, Aisha, and Milly.
Panicked, I shouted at Envi, berating him. "You fool! If you keep this up, you’re going to hurt the students, Aisha, and Milly!"
But despite my plea, Envi was far beyond reasoning. Nyssa had finished her ritual, and in a flash of dark power, Envi struck, knocking Nyssa to the ground.
However, the Gehenna Gate had already opened. Dark magic surged out, rising and piercing through the underground room, reaching toward the heavens.
For a moment, nothing seemed to happen. But then, Morgan spoke, his voice filled with satisfaction. "Now, I can rest easy. I’ve kept my promise to the demons."
I was confused. What promise? What did this have to do with the demons?
Before I could even process this, Nyssa’s body began to convulse, and her consciousness shattered. She transformed completely into a demon. Her horns grew longer, her black hair and extended and spread dark magic, and her eyes bled red. Two massive, dark wings sprouted from her back, and in her hands was a terrifying, two large black scythes.
The demon—no, she—laughed at Morgan. "You fool. Did you truly believe in the demons?"
She revealed her true identity. "I am Norx, the Warlord of the Dreaming Void, ranked 5th among the Demon Warlords."
I froze. I knew that name. Norx was a commander of the lower demons in the Doomspire Demon Kingdom. The kingdom had two layers of demons under the Demon King: the Overlords and the Warlords. The Overlords were the top five strongest demons, rarely seen in battle, only appearing in the most critical moments. The Warlords, ranked six to ten, were still powerful and led the lower ranks in battle.
The fact that a Warlord like Norx could infiltrate our academy, hidden within Nyssa’s body, sent a chill down my spine.
