Chapter 56: Magic Differences
My team and I sat together, alongside other teams from the third year. However, most of the students here stared at us with sharp glares.
We were confused, but we had to remain calm and attend this class.
A professor walked to the front of the class and began the day’s lesson. She introduced herself as Professor Lowen, a magic professor at this academy. She was a woman in her 30s, with blonde hair, holding a magic staff and wearing a wizard’s hat.
I was surprised to see how many young professors were present at this academy. It wasn’t just older professors; there were many young ones here. One of them was Professor Lowen, who would be teaching us for the week. I also noticed Professor Alden standing next to her, while Instructor Morgan stood at the side of the class, observing.
We began our lesson. Today, we were learning about the differences between magic in the Grand Kingdom of Solara and magic in the Kingdom of Braveheart.
Magic in Solara was more flexible and developed because they practiced and innovated with it every day. The Kingdom of Solara itself had earned the title of the Magic Kingdom. In contrast, magic in the Kingdom of Braveheart was used primarily in combat, blending sword techniques with magic to enhance the fighting power of their knights.
Solara’s magic did not only depend on gods and goddesses; they had developed human-made magic.
For example, they could merge elements to form new ones. One such creation was steam magic, derived from fire and water elements. They had also discovered how to evolve elements, such as transforming earth into iron. These processes required an extremely high level of skill in controlling elemental magic.
Students from the Braveheart Academy were shocked to hear this, including my team. We had no idea that Solara’s magic had surpassed that of Braveheart.
However, Professor Lowen then explained that these discoveries were not perfect. Only a few individuals with extraordinary magical talent could perform such feats.
Professor Lowen continued to explain another unique source of magic found only in the Kingdom of Solara—Grimoires.
