Chapter 462
The room was filled with endless charm, yet he chose to venture out in the dead of night in search of those ghostly entities. This decision made Yang Fan truly regretful; as he left the room, he almost took one step and looked back three times.
The quiet midsummer night resonated with the intermittent, noisy chirping of cicadas and croaking of frogs.
With a powerful flashlight in hand, Yang Fan headed towards the village office, clutching the Thunderstruck Wood Mace tightly, his gaze vigilant and his ears tuned to any unusual sounds that might emerge nearby.
However, the journey was a mix of close calls without any actual danger, with no ghostly creature jumping out to give him a scare.
Upon reaching the entrance of the village office, Yang Fan hesitated and decided not to go in straight away, but to first make a phone call to Mr. Fan.
"Mr. Fan, I’m at the entrance of the village office, should I come in?" asked Yang Fan.
"Come in! We’re at the back of the building. You don’t expect the two of us old men to come out and fetch you, do you?" Mr. Fan replied with a laugh and slight annoyance in his voice.
Yang Fan chuckled, "You just mentioned this place had turned into some sort of ghostly haunt, I was worried I might vanish without a trace the moment I stepped in."
"It’s a precaution, not a reality yet," Mr. Fan explained, "If that thing had already been done, then indeed, it might be easy for you to disappear the moment you set foot inside. Come on in, it’s very safe here now, no worries."
Yang Fan was suddenly alarmed. Heck, there actually was that possibility.
After hanging up the phone, he walked into the village office and circled around to the back of the building, where he could see the two old gentlemen from afar.
