Chapter 386
As the last bit of twilight faded, Yang Fan returned home.
Carrying his bag of mushrooms into the kitchen, before he could even speak, he was met with a slap from Zhou Wenhui.
That slap left Yang Fan completely stiff.
He had only ever slapped women on the buttocks, and this was the first time he had been slapped there himself.
"Little Mother, what are you doing?" Yang Fan asked in shock.
Zhou Wenhui, wearing an apron and gripping a spatula in her right hand, glared at him and said, "You little rascal, you actually know how to come back home?"
"I was busy with important business," Yang Fan said weakly. "Big business that makes money, this trip could’ve made as much as several months’ worth."
"I know it’s important business, but I’ve done the math. It takes two days for you to go to Lin Jing to collect the goods, back and forth, but you dilly-dallied and took four days. Did you forget that your Fourth Aunt and Xiao Yuan are about to leave?" Zhou Wenhui scolded without any good temper.
Yang Fan hissed softly, for he had indeed forgotten.
"I came back this morning. The two herbal farmers I sold to don’t have direct access, so it took a lot longer to take the detours. Otherwise, two days would have been enough," Yang Fan explained.
Though he had truly forgotten that Yang Yuan and her group were leaving, he still had to find something close to a reasonable excuse; otherwise, Little Mother would go on and on about it.
