In the Vast Sea, on an Uninhabited Island

Akio carefully inspected the island. Aside from insects, there wasn't a single living creature larger than that.

Satisfied, he nodded.

He had already stocked enough food inside his Eight Trigrams Space, and before leaving, he had informed Kushina that he would be gone for a while. Everything was prepared.

It was time for this special upgrade.

Witness Points: 1,510

The Chunin Exams had rewarded far more Witness Points than he'd expected. Originally, he had planned to unlock two spaces at once, but now he could open three.

Which made him a little nervous.

Every time one of his abilities reached its peak, something bizarre tended to happen. Opening three at once? He had no idea what the consequences would be.

"Maybe two would be safer…"

Akio pondered for a long while.

"Ah, forget it. My luck's been pretty good lately. Three it is!"

There was no hesitation about which attributes to improve. In his earlier years, he'd focused on Fire, Wind, and Earth to pursue Dust Release.

Now, however, it was time for Lightning, Water, and Earth.

After all, how could Dust Release compare to Wood Release?

He spent 1,500 Witness Points in one go.

Immediately, he felt three new spaces slowly opening within him—the Second Gate of Healing, the Fifth Gate of Limit, and the Sixth Gate of View. At the same time, his control over Lightning, Water, and Earth chakra steadily increased.

Half a day later, the changes finally stopped.

Akio raised an arm.

"That's it?"

He carefully checked his status.

There had been some significant changes.

His Ninjutsu stat had risen from 30,000 to 45,000, representing a substantial increase in his ability to perform techniques.

His Taijutsu stat had dropped from 30,000 to 25,000 because of his younger body, though he considered that a good thing.

Back then, he had obtained his perfect Sage Body as an adult.

Now, he possessed that same perfect body while still in adolescence. Once he finished growing, he'd undoubtedly surpass his previous peak.

The biggest surprise, however, was his Technique stat.

It had jumped from 100,000 to 400,000.

Each newly opened space had granted him another 100,000 units of chakra.

Previously, his chakra reserves had only been comparable to the full Nine-Tails.

That gluttonous furball actually had a little more chakra than he did.

As for everything else, nothing had changed except the number of unlocked spaces, which now stood at 5/8.

His rank remained SSS, but he could clearly feel that he was much stronger than before.

"And here's an unexpected bonus, the Second Gate is in my left brain! Opening the right side of my brain didn't make me smarter than Shikaku, but now the left side is awakened too…"

He folded his arms proudly.

"I, Uzumaki Akio, refuse to be second to anyone. Not Shikaku… and certainly not Shikamaru!"

He activated the Second Gate's space.

The moment he entered, he froze.

Then his face darkened.

As far as the eye could see

Water.

Nothing but endless water.

"Is this system messing with me on purpose? Why does the Water Space have to be in my left brain? Couldn't it have gone somewhere else?"

The irony was almost insulting.

Grumbling, he tested the effects of the Water Space.

Water Release techniques became stronger while every other elemental technique weakened.

Exactly as expected.

Then he flew in one direction for quite some time and still couldn't find the boundary of the space.

He didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

"System, I always thought you were on my side. Turns out you're the real villain here."

Next, he inspected the other two spaces.

The Earth Space, located in the Fifth Gate, was an endless desert.

Not a single hint of green.

Not even a cactus.

The Lightning Space, located in the Sixth Gate, was filled with crackling bolts of lightning that attacked indiscriminately. One nearly fried his flashy new outfit.

Still, it looked like the perfect place to trap and eliminate enemies.

By the time he had finished examining all three spaces, night had fallen.

This entire upgrade had only taken a single day.

He still wasn't used to things going so smoothly.

"Perfect. That leaves me plenty of time to get used to my new strength."

The first thing he needed to master was his newly acquired Bloodline Technique:

Yomotsu Hirasaka.

It was an advanced space-time ninjutsu that opened portals in the air, allowing him to travel freely through dimensions under his control. It was useful for evasion, surprise attacks, and battlefield manipulation.

"Open a portal in the air… but how exactly do I do that?"

Wearing his Sage cloak, Akio waved his hand solemnly.

Nothing happened.

Not even a spark.

He became even more serious.

"...This might be harder than I thought."

It was.

It took him an entire week of repeated attempts before he could reliably open portals.

Mastering movement through his personal dimensions took nearly a month.

And every use consumed an absurd amount of chakra.

"This technique is mostly for looking cool," he muttered. "Unless I'm fighting Kaguya herself, I'll probably never need it."

After mastering one new ability, he turned his attention to the second:

Amenotejikara.

This was the power granted by his six-tomoe Rinnegan.

Anything within his field of vision, objects or living beings could instantly swap positions with him.

This technique proved much easier to learn.

By the end of a single afternoon, he could use it effortlessly.

The drawback, however, was severe.

After using it three times in succession, his eye temporarily reverted to an ordinary Rinnegan.

The sudden change frightened him; for a moment, he thought he'd have to nurture the eye all over again.

Fortunately, after one night's rest, it returned to normal.

With the two new techniques mastered, Akio returned to testing his fundamentals.

Level Ten Earth Release allowed him to lift the entire island into the sky.

Level Ten Water Release let him flood the entire island with a single technique.

Level Ten Lightning Release allowed him to fire a railgun-like blast powerful enough to erase the island completely.

The island passed away peacefully.

He moved on to other deserted islands and tested one technique after another:

Yasogami Kugeki.

All-Killing Ash Bones.

Planetary Devastation.

Heaven Concealed.

Perfect Susanoo.

And more.

Eventually, he gave himself a new title:

Island-Class Shinobi.

As long as he fought seriously, any one of his ultimate techniques could completely destroy an island several square miles in size.

More than two months later, near the Land of Whirlpools, Akio found another suitably sized deserted island.

"Only one technique left to test. And it's near Uzushiogakure too… perhaps fate intended this."

He formed hand seals.

"Sage Art: Wood Release Nativity of a World of Trees!"

The seals completed.

Yet no trees appeared around him.

Instead, the ground beneath his feet trembled.

A gigantic vine burst upward from the ocean depths, lifting the entire island into the sky.

It rose higher and higher until it finally stopped roughly a thousand feet above sea level.

"It worked!"

A delighted smile spread across Akio's face.

"Besides the moon, I finally have another residence worthy of my status."

He looked at the floating island and grew increasingly pleased with himself.

"An island in the sky. Ordinary people who wish to visit can only climb the vine to reach it. Since the vine absorbs chakra, they won't be able to cheat by using ninjutsu."

He stroked his chin.

"Those with enough determination will earn the guidance of Sage Akio…"

His eyes lit up.

"Brilliant."
