Chapter 32: Wind
Lee didn’t even care that he was weaker than the dragon, he attacked Cyprian’s face and wanted to kill him for making Astri sad like that.
Cyprian holds Lee’s arms and throws him away.
"I’m sorry. She had to go through this to understand what she really is. I didn’t know she would have a hard past, but either way, she has to face her own enemy by herself." Cyrprian speaks.
"Why? We have been living peacefully until now. Why does she have to go through this? She needs to live happily, that’s all." Zin says.
He’s dying inside, wanting to go after her.
"Would any of you live happy not knowing who you are? Not knowing what you’re capable of? Even knowing you’re strong and feeling that something inside of you wants to come out?" Cyprian questions them, and they don’t know what to answer. "I know you love her, but she needs to go through this. For her own good. You can’t keep her away from this. What you can do is support her through this. She’s more important than only being your mate. She can change the world."
They think carefully and realize that they can’t just also pretend she’s a common beast. With all her knowledge she really can make things different for everyone.
"But does she want that? Does she want to go through this? Or does she want to change the world?" Wayde asks.
"It is her choice. I know she wants to know what she is, she wouldn’t ask me if she didn’t. I want to help her because I believe that once she learns her true identity, the world will be better just by having her existence." Cyprian answers.
"Astri already went through too hard things. Everything she needs is to be pampered, do what she likes, have her garden, and be happy. That’s it." Lee speaks.
"She can still live like that. Learning who she is won’t prevent her from being happy. What you need to understand is that what you know as normal won’t work for her. And you already know that. I’m old and I never saw a female thinking the way she thinks, I’m sure I will be impressed many times just by watching her." Cyprian says. They know Cyprian is right, but they hate seeing Astri sad. "Don’t think I like to watch her sad. She saved me, so if I really want to help her, I need to do something that will actually help her."
