Two figures clad in black cloaks with red clouds and wearing straw hats were heading in the direction of Konoha.
"Itachi-san, is our destination Konoha?"
The deep voice of Kisame Hoshigaki echoed as the figure beside him slowly lifted his head, revealing the Uchiha crest under his hat—it was Uchiha Itachi.
As a member of the Akatsuki organization, Itachi's calm gaze, adorned with the three-tomoe Sharingan, revealed no emotion as he nodded slightly.
"Yes. I heard that after Sasuke killed Orochimaru, he disappeared for a few days and then headed toward Konoha. I can't let him escape anymore; I still need him as a replacement for my eyes."
Hearing Itachi's cold and detached words, Kisame grinned, his shark-like face breaking into a smile as he said mockingly:
"Eyes, huh? By the way, Zetsu recently passed on a piece of news—apparently, Orochimaru isn't dead. He's been spotted at a northern base, up to his usual tricks."
Itachi showed no surprise at the news of Orochimaru being alive. Instead, his expression remained utterly indifferent.
Those in the Akatsuki who had dealt with Orochimaru before knew all too well that his immortality techniques and escape artistry were far more troublesome than his actual strength.
