Chapter 19: His Secret
She couldn’t concentrate on the teacher’s lecture. She was thinking of what Vira said earlier about Caden. She also thinks that it was weird for him to wear a shirt covering his entire body.
She thought he had not received his uniform yet or maybe the school made an exception for him. But Elisa and the others who transferred later than Caden already got their uniforms.
She wanted to ask him, but she felt like he wasn’t ready to tell her. She remembered Aunt Peggy told her that Caden was kidnapped by the Trekker Clan three years ago. And that he was tortured.
Were there scars left on his body that he didn’t want her to see? Or there was something more?
She sighed when she felt a throbbing pain in her head. Maybe she was overthinking it and that Caden only like to wear that kind of shirt.
She was startled when someone tapped her shoulder. It was Caden, handing her a small piece of paper.
’Want to cut class? I’m bored. I want to be alone with you.’
She blushed and her heart started pounding. When he said he wanted to be alone, was he thinking about doing something more than kissing? She thought.
Then she shook her head to stop herself from overthinking again. She felt another tap on the shoulder and another piece of paper was handed to her.
’What’s on your mind? You look stupid. If you want to know what I was thinking then follow me to your residence.’
