Chapter 7: I Missed You
His hands were holding her tight, almost gripping her arms, and she began to feel the pain.
"Caden, you’re hurting me." She whispered as she flinched from the pain she felt.
He didn’t listen. He suddenly pulled her closer, slamming his lips into hers. The kiss was forceful and aggressive; it was bitter yet sweet. She was surprised so she struggled.
But instead of letting her go, he wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her closer. She suddenly felt that his kiss had changed. It became gentle. She didn’t realize that she voluntarily wrapped her arms around his neck.
She parted her lips when she felt his tongue brushing on her lower lip. He explored the inside of her mouth. She had never kissed someone like that before, so she copied what he was doing, entangling her tongue with his.
Why would her heart couldn’t deny him? It’s been years since she had heard of him. She should have hated him, but instead, she felt so safe in his arms.
With those thoughts, her tears started falling from her eyes. Caden might have tasted the salty liquid flowing from her cheeks to their lips. He stopped and pulled her slightly away from him.
He sighed. Then gently kissed her on the forehead.
"Alira, I came back for you. I know it’s been a long time since we saw each other. But my feelings hadn’t changed a bit. I still wanted to marry you. You are the only girl for me." He said in a gentle voice while embracing her tight.
She tilted her head up and stared into his eyes. His expression changed again. She could now see herself in the reflection of his silver eyes.
"Then why didn’t you contact me for two years? I waited for you. Every day I would check my email to see any message from you. I felt like you abandoned me. No one was telling me anything either. I was lonely." She cried.
"I’m sorry. Things happened in the palace. Our parents didn’t want you to worry about me." He answered.
