Chapter 282: The intimate night
Theodore’s concern deepened as he saw the distress flicker in Bella’s eyes. "Do you have your medicine with you?"
Bella nodded weakly, pointing toward the side table. "In my bag."
Theodore reached for her bag, unzipping it swiftly. His fingers sifted through its contents until he found a small white vial. Popping open the cap, he retrieved a pill and turned back to her.
"Here, take this." He placed the pill in her palm before grabbing the glass of water from the nightstand.
Bella placed the pill on her tongue and took a small sip of water. The cool liquid soothed her dry throat, but the weight pressing against her chest remained.
"Thanks," she murmured, handing the glass back to him.
Theodore didn’t move away. He studied her closely, his gaze searching for any sign of relief. "How are you feeling now?"
A strange unease lingered in her heart. The nightmare... it had felt too real. The sensation of falling, the sharp impact, the overwhelming darkness—every detail was still vivid in her mind.
"I feel awful," she said. "I don’t know why, but I have this strange feeling... like I fell and hit my head somewhere—something hard." She pressed her fingers against her forehead, where a dull throb pulsed beneath her skin. "It hurts."
Theodore’s heart clenched at her words. He had no idea how much pain she had endured, but one thing was clear—she was struggling, lost in a past she couldn’t fully grasp.
