Chapter 107: The twisted desire
Zack thought of following them, but his phone rang, interrupting his focus. It was Ivy.
He grimaced, the last thing he wanted to do right now was talk to her. Ignoring the call, he continued driving after the cab, his mind racing with thoughts of Bella and the mystery person who had helped her financially.
The phone rang again, the ringtone grating on his nerves. With an exasperated groan, he pulled over to the side of the road and answered the call, his face twisted in annoyance.
"Hello?"
"Zack, where are you?" Ivy’s voice came through. "I have been waiting for you for so long. Have you forgotten about our dinner plan?"
Zack pinched the bridge of his nose. He had totally forgotten about the dinner plan. He had completely forgotten about their plans. He knew he couldn’t afford to anger Ivy right now; his focus needed to stay on her. The situation with Bella would have to wait.
"I’m on my way," he said, trying to keep his voice steady. "Wait for me."
Reluctantly, he turned the car around, abandoning the idea of following Bella. His thoughts still churned with questions, but he knew he had to deal with Ivy first.
He arrived at his penthouse in no time and found Ivy waiting for him. A playful smile danced on her lips as she rushed to him, her arms winding around his neck.
"There you are," she breathed.
