Hu Haiyun knew that she would never be able to have children in this lifetime. No matter how advanced medical science became, she would never have the chance to be a mother.
She wanted to adopt a goddaughter, and there were more than a few friends who wanted to send their kids to her and see her as a godmother. But Haiyun knew these people weren’t sincere.

Tong Yao was surprised to learn of Haiyun’s intention, but she understood it.
She didn’t immediately respond, instead she turned to her parents, "Dad, Mom, what do you think?"
Tong Yaohui and Wen Yun exchanged glances. Yaohui smiled and said, "We don’t mind this. Having one more person to care about Yue, I couldn’t be happier."
Wen Yun, however, candidly said: "We have no objections, but Yueyue is full of ideas. Despite her young age, she is full of creative thoughts. Why not ask her in person tonight? We should respect her opinion."
Tong Yao thought that Wen Yun made a good point, so she said to Hu Haiyun, "Sister Hu, I like this idea. How about we go visit Yueyue tonight and ask her what she thinks?"
Hu Haiyun was pleased to see everyone agree. She immediately said, "Yes, we should ask Yueyue since she will ultimately be calling me godmother."
They quickly discussed the matter. Haiyun stated that if Tong Yue agreed, she would host a banquet at a grand restaurant.
