Chapter 684: Beating People
Guo Yun was unaware of being exploited by others and, with fierce glint in her wide eyes, still tried to reason it out with Guo Jinnian.
Guo Jinnian found it ridiculous: "Did you just brazenly claim that, as long as someone isn’t married, it’s fair game for you to steal their partner? Do you have absolutely no sense of morality? Don’t you care about any basic principles?"
Guo Yun didn’t think she was wrong and insisted confidently: "Indeed, as long as the other party is not married, everyone has the opportunity to pursue them. Why should I step aside for others?"
Guo Yun was fully convinced that her viewpoint was right and saw nothing wrong with it. Her words amused Guo Jinnian. "I’ve never seen someone so shameless, talking so confidently about such a vile thing. You certainly bring honor to your family. If you were my daughter, I’d slap you to death."
"Who do you want to slap to death?" Guo Yun, her eyes wide with anger and contempt, stared at Guo Jinnian. "What right do you, a parvenu, have to lecture me here? Do you think making a bit of dirty money allows you to compare yourself with me? You’re just a country bumpkin who thinks he’s turned into a phoenix, no sense of your true nature."
Guo Jinnian could no longer hold herself back. Upon hearing this, she raised her hand and slapped Guo Yun directly in the face. Shaking off the sting in her arm, she said, "Take this slap as a lesson and watch your manners when you speak. We’re not in your house, and there’ll be people here who will discipline you."
She had long found Guo Yun unbearable. A spoiled and pompous little missy, just because her family has some money, thinks she’s somewhat superior.
Stunned, Guo Yun held her face for a moment before reacting. She let out a scream and lunged at Guo Jinnian, "I swear, I will make you regret hitting me. If I do not beat you until you’re scrambling for your teeth on the ground today, then my surname isn’t Guo."
The shop owner hurriedly held back Guo Yun, "Let’s talk it through, no need for fighting."
Guo Jinnian merely laughed, "Better to not share the same last name with you to save the ’Guo’ name some embarrassment."
