Chapter 163 - 162: Grew a Pig’s Mouth
Although the dumplings were gone, Tong Yao felt extremely happy deep down, feeling as though she had completed a task from her past life, settling a regret.
"Doctor, is my husband’s recovery going well? Can he be discharged from the hospital tomorrow?"
"He’s recovering very well. As for discharge, we’d better observe him for another two days."
"Alright, thank you, doctor."
Si Chen walked out of the ward next door with a medical record book in his hand. With the family of the patient following behind him and sending him to the door, he then turned around and returned to the ward.
Tong Yao stood at the door of the ward. Seeing that the patient had left, she then approached and greeted, "Done checking on the patients?"
As soon as her words fell, a man’s moan of pain came from the ward behind her. Presumably, the person was being tormented by illness and couldn’t bear it any longer.
"Hm, going to the department first."
Si Chen nodded, reached out to take the lunch box from Tong Yao’s hand. The light feeling made him pause for a second, then he looked at Tong Yao with a puzzled gaze.
"..." Tong Yao laughed awkwardly a couple of times, explaining: "There was an old man in room 206 who hadn’t eaten all day, and he really wanted to eat Pickles Pork Dumplings. Coincidentally, the dumplings I brought for you were Pickles Pork Dumplings, so I gave them to him. I’m a bit late to make more now, so I’ll go to the canteen and buy something for lunch for you. I’ll make dumplings for you tonight, okay?"
