Chapter 331: Heavenly Master 38
The interior space of this car is just like the Ghost Car. From the outside, it looks very small, but inside it’s quite spacious, with two rows of sofas and a long coffee table in between, filled with black-and-white snacks and colorful, dark drinks meant for entertaining ghost passengers.
However, Shuangshuang wasn’t focused on these. She was sitting by the window, instructing the driver to follow the route she had just taken. Meanwhile, she opened her Dharma Eye, her eyes glimmering with a golden light as she carefully observed the outside scene, scrutinizing it bit by bit. Soon, she noticed the space ahead exhibiting wave-like ripples, as if wind was brushing across water under her Dharma Eye’s gaze.
"Stop!" Upon discovering this, Shuangshuang immediately called for the ghost driver to stop the car, then swiftly got out. Behind her, Boss Tian, Duan Chenghai, and Duan Chengming hurriedly followed, getting out of the car as well.
After getting out of the car, the three looked at the vast open land in front of them with confusion, unsure why Shuangshuang had stopped there. Shuangshuang had no intention of explaining. She directly pulled out a Breaking Boundary Talisman and affixed it to the air in front of her!
As soon as the talisman paper was applied, the air in front rippled like water, revealing a transparent barrier akin to a glass wall. Under the effect of the Breaking Boundary Talisman, it slowly parted to either side, creating an opening wide enough for two people to enter side-by-side.
Shuangshuang’s eyes lit up—it was indeed a Barrier! This place must be the projection of the theater, projected into the Yin Realm, yet encased in a Barrier, clearly prohibiting other ghosts from entering, forming a miniature world for its own amusement.
Faced with this situation, Shuangshuang felt a little unsure herself. It could be a powerful Ghost King setting a barrier to trap other ghosts for its own fun, or it might be some formidable demon or magical creature! There were too many possibilities for what could create such a setup, and Shuangshuang wouldn’t be able to determine it without investigating inside.
Before entering the barrier, Shuangshuang solemnly looked at Duan Chengming and said, "The situation inside is very strange. You’d better behave yourself. Do not touch anything inside, no matter how normal the food looks; do not eat it. The ghosts inside may appear friendly, but you must not easily converse with them. Remember, you cannot trust ghostly words, nor should you listen too long! If you hear a ghost speaking excessively by your ear, tell me immediately. If you mess around again, you may end up stuck here forever, unable to return to the mortal world."
Duan Chengming, having been reprimanded by Shuangshuang earlier, knew better than to provoke her. Listening to her words, he nodded vigorously like a pecking chicken, too afraid to speak more, fearing that his chatter might prompt the impatient Shuangshuang to silence him again!
Shuangshuang was most concerned about Duan Chengming’s behavior. Despite his nods, she still found it unreliable. Thus, she sternly looked at Duan Chenghai, who seemed dependable, and said, "Keep an eye on your brother once we’re inside!"
A blush appeared on Duan Chenghai’s face—out of embarrassment. His brother was in his twenties, yet needed more supervision than a child. Faced with Shuangshuang’s serious gaze, he could only nod and promise, "Don’t worry, Master. I’ll keep a close watch on my brother and won’t let him act out!"
After warning Duan Chengming and getting Duan Chenghai’s promise, Shuangshuang had done her best. She then burned four Yin Talismans to help conceal and mask the signs of life from them, hoping it would make the ghosts ignore their group inside.
Once everything was set, albeit still uneasy about Duan Chengming’s troublesome nature, Shuangshuang took her first step into the barrier, with the three men dutifully following her into it.
