All the little spiders quickly devoured the white energy blocks that Red Jade had pulled out, and then climbed up along Red Jade’s claws onto her body, attaching themselves to her abdomen.
It must be said, Red Jade’s body was large enough that the many small spiders attaching to her didn’t visibly change her appearance.
Since Shuangshuang’s goal for the day had been accomplished with all of Red Jade’s progeny hatched, she planned to get everyone on the road and quickly head toward the Capital, worried about what might happen to her parents without her by their side.
Traveling was much easier this time. With the new additions of Zhang Ling and Sister Yanhong, tasks like laundry were taken care of by them and their subordinates, relieving everyone significantly.
Zhang Ling’s tactics were indeed versatile and clever, rivaling Li Man’s. Even though everyone remained wary of her, it was inevitable that they gradually warmed up to her.
Of course, Zhang Ling mainly focused her charm offensive on Shuangshuang, but Shuangshuang wasn’t easy to win over. She neither disliked nor particularly liked Zhang Ling, as she generally had an aversion to those with deep-seated scheming, especially since she’d been terribly tricked by Li Man, someone notoriously shrewd.
Zhang Ling found Shuangshuang quite a challenge; she had never encountered anyone so impervious. Despite relentless attempts to win her favor, Zhang Ling found that Shuangshuang remained indifferent. Yet, Zhang Ling was undeterred, seeing great potential and a promising future in Shuangshuang.
The journey ahead was quite smooth because Shuangshuang was eager to return to see her parents. She chose not to keep training everyone as they traveled and instead had them all sit atop Red Jade for a swift journey.
