Beyond the Apocalypse

Chapter 716: Reaching the final battlefield of the Doomsday World

There was a solemn expression etched into Spartacus’s face as he teleported, drawing closer and closer to the Korokor Stronghold. He had already finished visiting the other remaining strongholds that were still standing, gathering every ounce of strength he could. But what he had managed to rally and send to the frontlines was still far from enough for what would be needed to ensure even a slim chance at victory.

As Spartacus moved through the fabric of space, lost in grim thought, his sharp senses suddenly flared. He narrowed his eyes, detecting multiple Legendary-level presences ahead.

"What’s happening?" A sense of caution surged through him. Instantly, he accelerated, materializing above the Korokor Stronghold just a second later—and the sight that met his eyes shocked him deeply.

At the base of the stronghold, a group of fifty-five warriors stood assembled. Leading them were three figures whom he recognized immediately. Spartacus’s breath caught in his chest.

He could not hide the astonishment upon seeing General Tiberius standing tall once more, exuding an aura so potent, so revitalized, that it was clear he could hold his ground in a Legendary battlefield. The general’s rapid recovery was a miracle in itself.

But what truly stunned Spartacus was the small yellow cat standing beside him—Jormungandr.

Jormungandr now bore the unmistakable aura of a fully awakened Legend, and not merely at the entry-level. His energy pool radiated so intensely, so vibrantly—infused with the pure power of life, lightning, and fire—that Spartacus instinctively knew he would have to approach the little creature with utmost caution in a battle. That power bordered dangerously close to the High Legend tier.

His gaze then swept toward the fifty-odd warriors standing behind the trio. Spartacus sensed it immediately: each one had the strength and resilience of a Half-Step Legend. While they might not survive alone against true Legends, together—and with careful coordination—they could survive, and even thrive, on a Legendary battlefield.

A booming laugh broke from Spartacus’s chest, one that echoed across the skies like rolling thunder shaking the very fabric of space.
