Chapter 663: Kun Peng Divine Armor (II)
When Janus and Agamenon heard Vlad’s decision, shock immediately appeared in their eyes, quickly followed by complicated expressions.
Although neither of them personally needed to buy armor due to the powerful equipment already provided by their families, that didn’t mean they hadn’t inspected the ones available at the Military Logistic Center. Naturally, the mighty Kun Peng Divine Armor had also caught their attention.
Despite its remarkable power and exceptional reputation, the Kun Peng Divine Armor was categorized as Legendary Tier equipment. Vlad, on the other hand, was only at the Sage level.
Typically, warriors—no matter how wealthy or privileged their backgrounds—did not choose Legendary equipment while still Sages. It wasn’t merely a matter of cost, but a practical limitation.
Legendary armor required a tremendous surge of energy to fully activate and properly bind with the user’s body. Without adequate energy to trigger this activation, even if the armor itself was indestructible, the shockwaves from enemy attacks could easily pass through it and severely injure or kill the cultivator inside.
Agamenon and Janus were aware that Vlad came from a minor world, so they naturally assumed he might be ignorant of this particular piece of cultivation knowledge. They exchanged hesitant glances, silently contemplating how best to explain the issue without embarrassing their friend. Before either of them could speak up, however, Oliver, the clerk, intervened calmly.
"A Legendary Armor won’t function properly on a Sage cultivator," Oliver explained in a neutral tone, neither mocking Vlad nor hiding his voice. "Your energy pool simply isn’t powerful enough to activate it fully, let alone sustain its protective effects."
Several people within the Logistics Center overheard the conversation, and many heads turned towards Vlad, their eyes subtly mocking, sneering, or filled with condescending amusement.
To these warriors, Vlad appeared to be nothing more than a countryside bumpkin—someone foolishly wasting wealth on equipment he couldn’t even properly wield.
