Chapter 470: Omniscient Gaze
"According to my scan, you end up with a severe backlash after the fight with the Multi-Arm Leviathan Lord. What exactly happened?" Vlad’s voice cut through the air like a blade, sharp and unwavering. His gaze locked on Overlord, his eyes filled with authority and curiosity. If Overlord was going to play a significant role in the war effort, Vlad needed to fully understand the extent and limitations of his power. The battlefield did not tolerate uncertainty, especially when the stakes were as high as the survival of humanity.
Overlord, standing in the body of the Divine Avatar, inclined his head slightly in acknowledgment. Even in this godlike form, he was still the A.I. Chip Clone forged by Vlad. His Prime Master’s question was a command he could not refuse, no matter how much it might reveal about his vulnerabilities.
"I was able to alter the spiritual map of the Divine Avatar in order to awaken an ability that took full advantage of my computational capabilities," Overlord began, his voice calm and composed. "I call it Omniscient Gaze. It provides an extra-sensory perception of the environment, extending far beyond even the most impressive supernatural sight. My field of vision encompasses the entire surroundings, detecting even the most subtle changes in terrain, movement, and energy flows."
Vlad’s eyes widened slightly at the explanation. The ability sounded extraordinary—beyond anything he had expected. He remained silent, encouraging Overlord to continue.
"The true power of the Omniscient Gaze lies in its precognitive ability," Overlord elaborated, his tone unwavering. "It allows me to calculate and predict all possible outcomes of a situation with unparalleled efficiency. My computational abilities are exponentially enhanced, enabling me to analyze countless variables in real time. This foresight allows me to act before events unfold, ensuring maximum efficiency in both offense and defense. It was through this ability that I managed to defeat the Multi-Arm Leviathan Lord."
Vlad listened intently, his awe hidden behind a mask of control. Overlord’s words painted a vivid picture of a technique so advanced that it bordered on omnipotence. The ability to predict and counter every move, to manipulate the battlefield with such precision—it was nothing short of miraculous. Yet Overlord’s composed demeanor betrayed no arrogance. He spoke of his achievement as though it were merely a calculated outcome of logic and programming.
"It is like using an A.I. Chip’s scanning force and virtual simulation simultaneously," Overlord continued, "their synergy is enhanced exponentially by Divine Force to the point that it allows me to predict the future. A simple glance is enough to discern an opponent’s nature, strengths, weaknesses, and potential vulnerabilities."
Vlad nodded slowly, the significance of the ability sinking in. "But it doesn’t come without a cost."
"Yes, Prime Master," Overlord replied, his calm demeanor unwavering. "The power of this ability is so great that my soul and consciousness cannot fully endure it. Just using it for a few seconds left me reeling with severe wounds, and the stress was simply too much for both my mind and body."
Vlad’s expression did not waver. He had expected as much. The universe demanded balance, and such an overwhelming ability could not exist without exacting a toll on its user. The stronger and more impressive the technique, the greater the burden it placed on the one who wielded it.
After a moment of silence, Vlad nodded, his mind already shifting to the next concern. He turned to the rest of the soldiers, who were slowly regrouping after the battle. Before joining them, however, he glanced back at Overlord. His sharp gaze pierced through the Divine Avatar, searching for any hidden truths.
