Beyond the Apocalypse

Chapter 464: God vs Leviathan Lord (I)

The Leviathan Lord and the God remained locked in place for a fleeting moment, neither able to push the other back. Sparks of power arced between them—Divine Force and monstrous might colliding in a standoff that shattered the earth beneath their feet. Their clash dug deep fissures into the ground, sending chunks of soil and stone flying in all directions.

As the stalemate ended, the Leviathan Lord and the God recoiled slightly, then lunged back into the fray with blinding speed.

The God’s sword and the Leviathan Lord’s numerous arms met with explosive force. Each clash produced a shockwave that blasted dirt and debris high into the air, leaving swirling clouds of dust and ash in their wake. When steel met chitinous claw, it unleashed a crack of thunder that rolled across the battlefield.

Both fighters moved at a speed that defied comprehension—one instant, they were hovering in one spot; the next, they had shifted several hundreds of meters, leaving distorted afterimages behind. To the human soldiers, it looked as though a beam of brilliant light and a streak of impenetrable darkness were striking at each other with unimaginable ferocity, generating blasts of energy that rattled bones and left the very air charged with crackling power.

"AGFGGHHHH!" The Multi-Arm Leviathan Lord roared louder and louder, its voice thick with rage and frustration. It continued its onslaught, each of its massive arms swinging in unpredictable patterns, aiming to crush, rip, or pierce the God’s body.

Yet the God remained utterly composed. His eyes still closed as if he had no need to see his foe. His sword flashed in graceful arcs, intercepting every blow. Where the Leviathan Lord hurled chaos, the God answered with calm precision. His blade diverted claws away from his vital points and, in the same fluid movement, left deep, well-placed cuts along the monster’s hide.

Some of these cuts landed on cracks already formed by Freya’s mace. The Viking princess’s desperate struggle had weakened the Leviathan Lord’s armor-like chitin. Now, under the God’s relentless and measured sword strikes, those weaknesses were exploited further. With each perfect slash, more fragments of the Leviathan’s plating shattered, and dark blood oozed from the wounds.

All across the battlefield, confusion and awe gripped humans and Leviathan alike. But then, a voice rang out, cutting through the haze of war.
