Chapter 462: Freya vs Multi-Arm Leviathan Lord
The bloodshed began almost immediately as the Multi-Arm Leviathan Lord tore into the northern flank of the battlefield, where human forces had gathered to deal with a cluster of Leviathans.
Hundreds of Turkin Riders and soldiers clad in black armor who had marched into that area with the intention of taking care of the drones were swiftly shattered to pieces. None could pose even the slightest resistance to the monstrous strength and ferocity of the new Leviathan Lord. Its multi-armed form moved with brutal efficiency, each colossal limb tipped with razor-sharp claws capable of cleaving through flesh and bone. In mere moments, what had been a steady force turned into a nightmare of twisted limbs and mangled armor, a testament to the colossal power wielded by this Leviathan Lord.
From afar, Jormungandr and Ouroboros, both Sky Seed Depravitas locked in their own life-and-death struggles against the Manticore Leviathan Lord and the Kraken Leviathan Lord, could do nothing but grit their teeth. Both had already been pushed well beyond their limits. Even thinking about helping the human forces was out of the question. Facing the Manticore and Kraken had drained their strength, leaving them straining to contain foes no less threatening than this new Leviathan Lord that had just joined the fray. They knew full well that this Multi-Arm Leviathan Lord’s presence would bring catastrophe if nothing was done to stop it, but there was nothing they could do.
On the ground, Grand Marshal Anglius and King Viserin watched the slaughter of their soldiers with pure hatred and frustration. Moments ago, they had been poised for a decisive victory. The human forces had methodically butchered segments of the swarm, pressing forward and gaining ground. Now, all of that progress threatened to be undone. The appearance of the Multi-Arm Leviathan Lord changed everything. It not only shattered the formation of the human forces, but it also rallied the scattered Levithans behind it.
With a single monstrous champion to anchor their courage, the enemy found new strength and coordination. The humans felt the tables turn in an instant. What had seemed a battle safely in their pocket now teetered on the brink of disaster.
Soldiers realized that staying in the north of the battlefield meant certain death. The Leviathan Lord’s rampage was unstoppable, and if they remained, they would be massacred. Yet retreating would allow the Levithans to regain their cohesion, undoing the careful fragmentation tactics the humans had employed. Fear of death weighed heavily on every soldier’s heart. Still, these warriors had undergone rigorous training and fought with a conviction that transcended fear. They reminded themselves of their cause, of everything at stake, and refused to run.
Just as panic threatened to spread, a sudden flash of light dashed across the battlefield. Before anyone could blink, Freya appeared directly in front of the Multi-Arm Leviathan Lord, interposing herself between the colossus and a cluster of soldiers. She raised her shield in time to block a massive claw that would have torn a man to ribbons.
The Viking princess gazed up at the Leviathan Lord, which towered more than four times her size. Its aura was crushing, its strength and might off the charts, far exceeding anything Freya had faced before. But there was no fear in her eyes, no hesitation in her posture. She understood that, at this moment, she was the only one who could keep this monster from obliterating the human lines.
The Multi-Arm Leviathan Lord’s eyes glowed with murderous intensity as it focused on Freya. Without delay, it poured all its killing power into an assault against the Viking princess.
Freya saw multiple powerful arms, each ending in deadly claws, swing at her from every direction. Each blow could have shattered her armor or snapped her bones if it landed cleanly. The threat of death loomed immense, yet Freya welcomed it, for it honed her instincts to their razor-sharp zenith.
Streams of light danced across her skin, the raw power of her bloodline pushing her speed to extremes. At the last second, she moved, taking a step aside, dodging several strikes that would have ended her life. Raising her shield, she protected herself from a claw aimed at her skull. The force was tremendous, sending tremors down her spine and arm, but she did not falter.
