Chapter 399: Behemoth (II)
The Behemoth Leviathan’s eyes focused solely on Kuro Mountain’s summit as it continued its relentless charge forward. Each colossal step it took caused the ground beneath to shatter into pieces, unable to endure the creature’s immense weight. Trees were uprooted, boulders crushed to dust, and deep fissures formed in the earth, marking its destructive path.
Freya’s eyes widened with shock as she saw the gargantuan beast advancing toward Kuro Mountain. The Leviathan was simply too massive, a towering monstrosity that dwarfed everything around it. Its movements lacked dexterity or agility; it was not built to fight nimble opponents like humans. Instead, its true purpose was clear—to destroy and obliterate anything in its path. It was a living battering ram, an unstoppable force aimed directly at the heart of the Kuro Mountain’s defenses.
A flash of horror crossed Freya’s face as she imagined what would happen if that creature were to march through Kuro Mountain. Other than herself, she doubted anyone else had the power to even slow it down. At its current pace, it could carve a path all the way to the peak, bringing with it tens of thousands of Leviathans. Such an outcome would spell doom for all who fought there.
Unfortunately, Freya did not have the luxury of focusing solely on the massive Behemoth. In the next second, a plasma whip came crashing down toward her head with enough strength to fracture her skull. Instinctively, the Viking princess pulled back just in time, the lethal whip slicing through the space where she had stood moments before. The ground exploded upon impact, blasted to smithereens by the force of the attack.
Glancing up, she locked eyes with the Special Unit Leviathan. It stared back with coldness and killing intent, a semblance of delight flickering across its alien features upon seeing the young woman’s predicament. Its exoskeleton gleamed ominously, and its elongated limbs twitched with anticipation.
"Damn it!" Freya couldn’t help but shout in rage. Frustration and urgency surged within her. She made her energy explode outward, a radiant aura enveloping her form. With fierce determination, she attacked the Special Unit Leviathan with all she had, swinging her mighty mace in powerful arcs. She needed to eliminate this monster quickly so she could confront the Behemoth, but it did not seem that would be easy.
The Leviathan was relentless, parrying her blows with its armored limbs and countering with swift strikes of its own. The two warriors clashed amidst the chaos of the battlefield, neither giving an inch. Sparks flew as metal met chitin, and the ground shook beneath their feet.
Meanwhile, the rumbling of the earth only grew stronger as the Behemoth approached Kuro Mountain. Its momentum grew with every step, the sheer mass of its body making the ground tremble. Unfortunately, the Golden Wave Legion, Shadow Strike Legion, and Turkin riders could not afford to split their focus. They were in the midst of a massive clash, holding the dark swarm at bay. It would only take a wrong step for massive casualties to arise in their ranks. Not to mention, even if they could move, the Behemoth did not seem like the kind of creature that mere numbers would be able to stop.
