Chapter 394: New units (I)
The outer ring at the base of Kuro Mountain had transformed into a massive battlefield. Every inch was occupied by raging and bloodthirsty Leviathans who sought to rise to the peak and by human forces who butchered every single one in their path. It was a truly bloody sight; thousands upon thousands of Leviathans perished every second while handfuls of humans fell alongside them. The ground was stained with so much blood that it began to form a small river around the base of Kuro Mountain.
Viserin’s eyes were sharp as his sword moved with overwhelming speed and precision. Although he could not compare with Vlad, there was a reason the Plane Will chose him as a World King Candidate. He proved his worth by displaying power that could rival giants like Grand Marshal Anglius and Major General Theodoro.
"X Formation, now!" the Turkin King shouted as he guided his riders. Dividing the group into four directions, they blasted apart all the drones before circling around those forces and squeezing them down.
While the Turkin riders were only facing drones, the importance of their job on the battlefield could not be higher. After all, they were less than seventy thousand and facing millions of tiny, fast creatures that knew no fear and could turn the entire battlefield into a slaughterhouse if they were to reach the peak of Kuro Mountain.
The Turkin riders moved with impeccable coordination. Their demonic mounts thundered across the blood-soaked ground, hooves crushing Leviathans underfoot. Their formations shifted seamlessly, adapting to the flow of battle and keeping the flanks secure.
Grand Marshal Anglius and Major General Theodoro’s eyes were bloodshot as they and the Bloodline Soldiers used every iota of power they had to push forward. Blasting all the drones and aerial units in their path, they drove them back and limited the movement of several insect-humanoid warriors.
The group was accompanied by the full might of the Golden Wave Legion and Shadowstrike Legion, which destroyed everything on their left and right flanks. Their moves resembled a saw—pushing deep into the enemy’s ranks, leaving bleeding wounds, and butchering everything—before pulling back, allowing themselves a respite, and dashing forward again, starting the process over and over.
Anglius swung his massive halberd with ferocious strength, each sweep clearing a swath through the enemy. His golden armor was splattered with dark blood, but he pressed on undeterred. Beside him, Theodoro unleashed bursts of energy from his spear, the Force skills tearing through clusters of Leviathans. The Bloodline Soldiers fought with unparalleled ferocity, their unique abilities complementing one another and creating a formidable front.
Of course, the most intense clash was between Freya and the Special Unit Leviathan. Bloody wounds were evident on the Viking princess and the Leviathan, yet they had not moved more than five meters from their original position.
The shockwaves and destructive energy unleashed had practically reduced the ground beneath their feet to dust. Freya’s eyes were pure fierceness and coldness. Her mace and shield moved at a shocking speed as she constantly blocked strikes that could take down massive buildings before responding with power enough to make an entire mountain tremble.
