Chapter 249: Finishing with Knight City
Vlad signaled for the battalion to take care of the demonic beasts’ corpses, burning them so they could not spread infection or alter the flow of energy in the area, before walking toward Ouroboros. It had been less than ten minutes since the fight ended, but the Depravita of Greed looked much better, as the Origin Force had helped his energy pool, and the meat and blood of the High Champion Monster Elephant healed his wounds.
"Are you ready?" Vlad asked with a calm smile on his face. Now that they had sealed a High Champion Abyssal’s soul, it was time for Ouroboros to become a Demon Soul Master.
The Depravita of Greed was still very tired, but he had recovered enough energy and was eager to obtain the new power, so without hesitation, he nodded while reverting to his original form.
Vlad could not help but find it odd to see how that massive and imposing fiendish werewolf transformed into a smiling wolf the next second, but did not delay things and very carefully adjusted the Demonblood Ironhide Runic Set, leaving the area above the heart empty.
After finishing with the modification of the Runic Set and making sure it did not lose any of its power, Vlad engraved the Demon Cage Runic Formation in Ouroboros’ body. He had engraved the runic formation several hundred times already, so it took a few minutes to complete it, and Ouroboros barely felt it.
However, the Depravita of Greed knew that the painful part would be the next one. He took a deep breath and calmed his body and mind before activating the parchment, making black tendrils charge into his chest, carrying with them the essence of the High Champion Abyssal.
It was excruciating pain, as it felt like molten iron was being infused into his bloodstream, but Ouroboros made sure not to move his body and kept focus at all times, not doing anything that could affect the integration of the High Champion Demon Soul.
Once the integration was finally completed, Ouroboros’ face was pale and full of cold sweat, yet soon a wide smile appeared on his face as he felt the new power coursing through his veins, filling his flesh, blood, and soul with new power.
Ouroboros could not contain his excitement as he focused, drawing the power of the Demon Cage Runic Formation, and a dark aura covered his body. The next second he began to dash from one direction to the other at a simply shocking speed, and it seemed that the High Champion Abyssal Demon’s soul had granted him enhanced speed and dexterity.
