Chapter 167: Secret plan
The instant Amara’s feet touched the ground, she burst forward at full speed like a cannon. The fact that she was out of the Strong Hammer Military Base did not mean for even a second that she was safe, as she could feel over three dozen angelic eyes focused on her, and many more powerful auras were emerging from the base. It seemed that every single angel in the fortress was set on hunting the Royal Guard.
If that wasn’t enough, the aura of Orion and the massive angel with metallic wings was approaching at a shocking speed. If they managed to get close enough, there was no way she could survive such power, and she was sure Orion would not grant her a quick death.
"Run!" That word echoed inside Amara’s mind with such might that it took over every ounce of her existence, making her Force and physical strength explode as she ran with everything she had.
The Royal Guard’s speed was beyond shocking for someone who had yet to reach Level 6, as she advanced more than a hundred meters every second. Her eyes aimed at the paved road surrounded by a large forest on the left and tall, rocky cliffs on the right. While heading into the forest might seem like the best path, the woman chose to stay on the paved road, prioritizing speed over losing track of the soldiers.
None of the angels could match Amara’s full power speed, and even those like Kor and Orion could only equal the woman, making this chase seem futile. However, that was where the Mages among the angels came into play as a myriad of spheres of energy fell from the sky onto the path of the Royal Guard.
"¡BOOM!" "¡BOOM!" "¡BOOM!" "¡BOOM!" "¡BOOM!" "¡BOOM!" "¡BOOM!"
Amara’s eyes narrowed as she felt dozens of spells falling toward her, forcing her to maneuver among the explosions. If that wasn’t enough, the paved road constantly changed due to the power of spells, with holes appearing out of nowhere or earthen spears rising from the ground.
All those spells hindered the Royal Guard’s movement and drastically reduced her speed. The young woman couldn’t help but frown as the delay in speed meant that the rest of the angels were drawing nearer.
Despite the danger, she kept moving forward, the muscles in her legs burning as she pushed on the path, advancing thousands of meters into the paved road. If she had changed her path and gone into the forest, the chances of losing the angels would have been higher, but the Royal Guard did not deviate from her path.
