Beyond the Apocalypse

Chapter 145: Back in the Silent Wind Military Base

Vlad and Freya were incredibly fast as they marched back to the Silent Wind Military Base. Even without using their Force, they could run at over one hundred kilometers for several hours without the need for rest.

While the young man and woman ran at that speed, the small yellow cat sat on Vlad’s shoulder, enjoying the scenery.

The group took the shortest path back to the Silent Wind Military Base, one that led them through mountainous terrain. For normal people, this would be an extremely harsh journey, but the strength of their bodies allowed them to make jumps of several meters without a problem.

Along the path, Vlad and Freya saw small packs of demonic beasts. They were weak, with none having over twenty demons, and they seemed lost. These creatures could not pose any threat to the group, and they could simply ignore them, but Vlad made sure to kill everyone he found on his way.

The reason for this was their Origin Force. Of course, a few dozen demonic beasts would not provide his body or soul enough Origin Force for significant improvement, but he wanted to see the effect of the golden energy on his Depravita Fog.

To Vlad’s delight, the Origin Force was able to nurture the Depravita Fog. Although using Origin Force to create the black fog that arose in the ceiling of his Soul Dimension was not possible, there did not seem to be a problem using it as food.

This realization made Vlad ecstatic. Of course, it did not change his objective of taking control over Nagan Mountain, as the amount of chaotic negative psychic energy he could obtain there would improve his Depravita Fog at a much faster rate.

Although the Silent Wind Military Base was nearly two thousand kilometers away from Nagan Mountain, since there were no deviations in their path, and they used their full speed, the trio managed to catch a glimpse of the fortress in less than two weeks.

The first time Freya glanced at the Silent Wind Military Base, her eyes widened. Its location was perfect, capable of enhancing the destructive power of spellcasters and providing impressive defenses. Even if the enemy army was ten times larger, they would have to pay a great price to reach the fortress.

Suddenly, a sharp light appeared in the young woman’s eyes as she felt the pungent smell of blood around the area. It was old, more than a month ago, but she knew a ferocious battle took place here, and thousands of demons perished.

And that was not the only thing Freya detected, as her instincts warned her about all sorts of dangers around the area. She could sense magic formations on the terrain, and if you were to fight in the middle of them, their activation could severely wound even a High Champion.
