Beyond the Apocalypse

Chapter 109: Grey Hawk

The strike was just the start since a second palm strike landed the next moment, this time in the zone over her chest, right above her heart. Freya’s entire body was stunned as the blow disrupted her blood flow.

’I win,’ Vlad’s eyes were sharp as he aimed a blow to her jaw, which would trigger a minor concussion. His attack had no killing intent, and with her vitality, she would just be disoriented for a few seconds.

However, just as Vlad fired the blow, he heard a warning from the A.I. Chip. [Beep! Blow to the chest! Pull back!]

Vlad could not believe what he was hearing. The blow to the solar plexus and the heart should have completely paralyzed Freya’s body, which was why he aimed at her head, leaving an opening.

It should not have been possible, which was why the warning from the A.I. Chip came too late, and the next instant, a blow landed on Vlad’s stomach. The punch felt as if an RPG had struck right into his stomach, sending him rolling through the ground!

Vlad’s body splashed through the ground for nearly thirty meters before he regained control and immediately rose, adopting a battle stance. But just as he stood up, his body trembled, and a small trail of blood emerged from his mouth.

Freya had used all her strength in that blow, and though it was not enhanced by energy, the woman’s physical might was monstrous, so it damaged Vlad’s internal organs. She had barely regained full control of her body when the young man rose from the ground, and her entire body felt stiff.

Vlad wiped the blood from his mouth as he saw the young woman standing steady and strong, a fierce smile appearing on his face. However, just as he was about to take a step forward, his eyes narrowed as he looked to the left.

At first glance, there was nothing there, but the A.I. Chip had warned him of a presence, and as he focused his gaze, soon a figure appeared.

"Good instincts, boy." The man who spoke was a man with a thick, gray beard and long, wild gray hair that flowed down his shoulders. He seemed to be in his fifties, yet his body was bulging with muscles, adorned with mystic tribal tattoos, and full of vitality and energy.

Vlad could not help but frown as he saw the old man. His instincts grew even warier when he detected magic-type energy inside his body, marking him as a spellcaster. If he were to fight the man and Freya simultaneously, he would be in great danger.

"Grey Hawk, what do you think you are doing!?" The one who shouted was none other than Freya, her eyes bursting with rage as she stared at the old Viking, furious that he had intervened. It seemed that if a fight were to start, she would be attacking him instead of Vlad.
