Beyond the Apocalypse

Chapter 72: Fighting an Abyssal (III)

"BOOM!" "BOOM!" "BOOM!" "BOOM!" "BOOM!"

Massive fiery explosions echoed across the forest, and huge trees several meters tall began to fall. One would think such a level of destruction would arise from the clash between two militant forces with a high level of explosive equipment and tanks, but the truth was it was just the aftermath of the battle between a man and a demon.

Vlad and the Abyssal were fighting with all they had. The battle had just started less than ten minutes ago, and they had already destroyed everything around them.

Arasbus was the most wounded of the duo, with dozens of new cuts appearing all over his body, but Vlad was not unscathed. While the young man had avoided all the direct blows, the club unleashed gales of scorching heat, causing burn wounds to appear all over his body.

Vlad found an opening after those dozens of clashes, and his sword flashed toward the neck of the Abyssal, but just as it was about to land, the demon opened his mouth and released a torrent of fire!

Those flames were hotter than any Vlad had ever felt before, and he immediately pushed his body down and rolled through the ground to avoid being incinerated by them.

Arasbus jumped forward and rammed his massive spiked metallic club down with all his strength. His target was none other than Vlad’s head, as he intended to burst it open like a melon!

Vlad’s eyes narrowed as he saw that strike, and he immediately rose from the ground, moving to the side, dodging the strike before aiming at the Abyssal’s armpit. Arasbus did not wear armor, but his muscles and skin were as strong as one, so Vlad needed to attack the soft spot to do any significant damage.

The white sword moved like a snake, fast and deadly, but before it could reach the demon’s armpit and disable the left arm, Arasbus raised the spiked metallic club from the ground and waved it to the side.

Vlad was forced to pull back unless he wanted to be sent flying away with all his bones broken by the spiked club. Even though the demon’s dominant arm was the right one, he could deploy excellent skills with the left one, showing just how high his martial talent was.

A sharp light appeared in Vlad’s eyes as he pulled back before flashing forward, striking one more time. Now, he did not aim at the left arm but instead at the crippled right one!

Arasbus’ eyes narrowed as he saw that sword attack, but he could not move the club in time, and a deep laceration appeared beneath the armpit of his right arm. A flash of pain appeared on the demon’s face as he saw the wound.
