Chapter 63: The plight of the weak
Vlad’s eyes narrowed as he heard those words coming from Orion’s mouth and saw the woman’s delicate smile. The angel’s words were true, no matter how much he disliked them. If nothing changed, the horde would arrive before the Silent Wind Military Base could prepare a proper defense, and everybody in it would die.
Of course, there were those like Vlad, strong enough to escape. Still, while he could bring people with him, they would have to be a small group since there was no way he could move through the forest or other areas full of demons and Monsters with hundreds of civilians who could not defend themselves.
Ultimately, it was the plight of the weak. Even if Vlad and General Anglius knew that the helping hand belonged to a rotten person who saw them as nothing more than disposable pawns, they could not refuse it.
General Anglius could not help but clench his fists as he stared at Orion with anger and at General Omar with disdain. The duo had sent this problem to them, and they still dared to act as if they were kind and good people. What a joke.
However, in the end, General Anglius took a deep breath as he restrained his anger and rage, analyzing everything with a cold mind before speaking.
"What exactly will be your help?"
Orion’s smile widened as she heard that, seeing that the man was forced to work with her despite how much he resented it. Making people do things they would usually never accept brought great pleasure to the woman, reinforcing her sense of superiority over what she only saw as large ants.
General Omar’s expression was self-righteous. He seemed to have forgotten everything else that had just happened and was ready to act magnanimously and help a friend in need.
"I can have 300 Level 1 soldiers in the Silent Wind Military Base in five days. That plus the 50 angels and Lady Orion herself will be enough to repel the demonic horde."
General Anglius’s eyes widened as he heard the number of troops that General Omar had, and each of those angels was much more powerful than a Level 1 individual, so they would be of immense help. That force plus the terrain advantage of Silent Wind Military Base might be enough to repel the five-thousand-strong demonic horde without incurring catastrophic losses.
"I assume you will be fighting on your own?"
