Chapter 8: Soul Dimension and Sea of Consciousness
The young man, who seemed to be the leader of the angels, waited for an entire minute as the people were drowning in despair before speaking again.
"I can feel the terror in your hearts, but there is no need to fear since you are not alone. I am Asmael, a Knight of God, and the Omnipotent has sent us to guide you in these troubled times."
As soon as the people heard these words, adoration appeared in their eyes as they glanced at the young man and the rest of the angels. While it sounded like a grandiose story that was too good to be real, no one disputed it. After all, they were angels of legend and had saved them from the monsters by displaying what could only be described as divine power.
Asmael smiled grandly as he saw how many people began to kneel in his presence, uttering words of devotion as if he were God himself.
Vlad couldn’t help but frown as he observed the behavior of those people, and he was not alone. Many others looked at the angels with gratitude but did not kneel on the ground and utter words of devotion.
Asmael and the other angels glanced at the people who were not worshiping them but did not say a word. Once the adoration was over, the young leader of the angels spoke again.
"As the messiah says, give a man a piece of meat, and he will eat for a day, but teach a man how to hunt, and he will have food for the dangerous times. Although our mission is to protect you, only twenty of us managed to descend from Heaven, and we will need your support to face the incoming hordes, as many more monsters of the Abyss will march out of the fiery inferno."
When the people heard these words, fear arose in their hearts. Even the smallest monster had the strength of a bear and the speed of an Olympic athlete, so there was no way for normal people to face them one-on-one.
Asmael remained silent for a few moments as he glanced at the growing fear in the people’s hearts. Just before a commotion would arise, he spoke again.
