Chapter 34: Berserk Force
The gym’s locker room was underground, and it was quite obvious that in this darkness, they were level 2 zombies. For many, this would be a problem, but for Rick, it was nothing. If Travis thought he would give up any item he had here after realizing the dangers, he was completely wrong...
As soon as Rick went down the stairs, he was surrounded by darkness. Nothing had changed; he was a level 3 mutant, and his eyes could see even in the darkness. However, he still used flares and other glow sticks to better illuminate the place. The light was more of a matter of comfort and helped him see small items that might be on the floor as well.
As he began to move in the darkness, Rick used the two smaller hatchets due to the narrower hallways. He barely took 10 steps before the first level 2 zombie ambushed him, before he could touch his clothes, Rick decapitated him with one of the hatchets.
[Obtained Survival Points x4]
[Obtained Level 2 Mutant Crystal x1]
Throwing one of the axes, a muffled noise was heard, and another alert went off.
[Obtained Survival Points x4]
Rick soon approached him and picked up another crystal. The entire fight took less than 10 minutes, and Rick swept through the entire underground locker room, eliminating a total of 11 Level 2 zombies. After that, the tedious task of breaking in and inspecting the students’ individual lockers and equipment lockers commenced.
It wasn’t a bad harvest, throwing darts, baseball bats, throwing spears, weights, arrows, knee pads, gloves, elbow pads, shoulder pads, and plenty of helmets. There were even some full-body protective suits that protected the spine in extreme sports, and suits that regulated body temperature used in water and winter sports. Unfortunately, there weren’t many bows here, only three were found, and 1 was defective.
Rick also swept all the food he could find in the lockers, there were lots of sweets, chocolate bars, protein bars and many packets of protein powder and other vitamin supplements used by college athletes. There was a store like that in the arcade, but when it came to food, it never hurt to collect everything.
Before leaving, he climbed up to the ceiling of the locker room and planted one of Ethan’s signal transmitters, and even set a trap next to it. Rick had already left one at the fire station, and Joe had set another one at the captain’s house as well.
