There was a boy who was bullied for dreaming of becoming a fashion designer and enjoying sewing. But decades later, that boy has become a designer who can now inspire confidence in others through clothing.
Since last year, I have even been honored with the title of Korea's leading designer. It's touching, and I'm grateful, but I won't let it go to my head.
That is why I have decided to return to my roots with this new brand—back to the designs I first sketched as a teenager. Even when my sketchbook was snatched away and I got punched in the face, I never let go of the dream that filled my heart.
Remembering those emotions, I'm launching the brand Courage.
I will do my utmost so that anyone wearing my clothes can share in the emotion I carried in my heart back then.
