Chapter 57
As soon as they left the church, Eun Woojeong disappeared after saying just one thing:
"I’ll be in touch."
He used his chains to leap up to a nearby rooftop in one swift motion, vanishing from sight in an instant. Watching it unfold, I couldn’t help but be amazed.
He really looked like the main character of some famous superhero franchise. Both of them did have that spider thing going on, I guess. Well, not that Eun Woojeong gave off any kind of nerdy vibe.
“He said Spiderweb would take care of the aftermath at the church, so I’ve only got one thing to worry about now.”
It was late into the night. Once I made sure Cha Sahyeon’s breathing was deep and ❀ Nоvеlігht ❀ (Don’t copy, read here) steady in my arms, I carefully opened my eyes.
Moving slowly so I wouldn’t wake the child, I slipped out of bed. After stepping out of the bedroom and settling onto the sofa, I pulled out the book I’d stored in my inventory.
I flipped it open under the dim light of a small lamp next to the sofa, starting from the first page.
Revelations of the Night
As soon as I turned the leather-bound cover, the title printed on the first page jumped out at me. Normally, I’d have scoffed at such a flashy, over-the-top line. But now, it just made my mind spiral.
Revelations of the Night? I’d honestly prefer some long-winded nonsense about a god that doesn’t exist and pointless sermons about faith.
Of all things, why a “revelation”? That meant whatever was written here must be referring to things that would happen — in the future, or maybe already happening right now.
