Chapter 1046 - Chapter 1046 Chapter 1046 Time Never Defeats a Beauty
Chapter 1046: Chapter 1046: Time Never Defeats a Beauty Chapter 1046: Chapter 1046: Time Never Defeats a Beauty Letitia Russell slowly lifted her gaze, her cold eyes falling on him. Although Letitia was now older, her skin remained taut, her figure not undergoing many changes.
In contrast, Sebastian Legend, though she bore some resemblance to Letitia, had aged significantly. Her crow’s feet had deepened, her facial skin was slackened, and her figure had become pudgier. She was never as beautiful as Letitia to begin with, and now the disparity was even more dramatic. Moreover, her eyes were filled with aggression and cunning.
Dressed in a wine-red dress, Letitia exuded an air of confidence and authority. If one didn’t know any better, one might think she was only forty. She stood there, not uttering a word, yet charming everyone around her.
Caught by Letitia’s icy gaze, Cory Hughes’s heartbeat skipped a beat. He clenched his teeth in unwillingness. He had always lived in Letitia’s shadow and now he was determined to surpass her, to shatter her pride, to show her just how formidable the man she once looked down upon had become.
Looking resentfully at Letitia, he huffed coldly, “Xaviera, you must be jealous that Zora is hosting an apprenticeship ceremony at the Cloud House. So, you brought the Russell family to back you up, intentionally caused a misunderstanding, and made us lose face in public, didn’t you?”
Xaviera Evans glanced at him and before she could speak, Julian Russell chimed in with a mocking tone, “What? Is the Cloud House run by the Hughes family? Can’t the Russell family come?”
“Also, a reminder to the elder Hughes, today is Jerome’s birthday. We gathered here to celebrate his birthday.” Julian paused, his eyes full of mockery, “Jerome and Zora Hughes are both your grandchildren, yet you forgot his birthday and held an ostentatious apprenticeship ceremony for Zora Hughes. Do we Russell’s need your approval to celebrate a birthday?”
Silence, a deathly silence.
Cory Hughes was shaking in rage. He was so breathless that his face turned pig-liver red.
It then dawned on everyone that today was Jerome Russell’s birthday. Jerome Russell was Cory’s own grandson, yet he not only forgot his grandson’s birthday, he even had the audacity to claim that the Russell family could attend the Cloud House only because of Zora Hughes’ influence?
What a shameless man!
Knowing the truth, the guests were unable to continue watching in silence.
Derisive and scornful glances were thrown at him, pushing Cory to the brink of explosion.
In a city as vast as Libanan, the Russell family chose to hold their birthday celebration at the Cloud House. Weren’t they intentionally trying to embarrass him? “Everyone knows that the Cloud House requires a reservation four days in advance. After I made the reservation, I saw the list and the Russell family was not on it! How did you get in if you didn’t reserve a spot? Are you telling me it wasn’t because of the Hughes family’s influence?”
The guests were also puzzled. Everyone knew that Cloud House paid a great deal of attention to its rules. Without a reservation, no matter how prestigious one was, admission would be denied. How then did the Russell family gain entrance? Was it because of Zora Hughes?
Just as everyone was pondering, Julian Russell gave a scornful laugh. He stood tall, a cold, mocking smile at the corners of his lips.
“Elder Hughes, the Cloud House reservation policy applies to outsiders. The owner of the Cloud House is not subject to this rule.”
Boom—-!!
