Chapter 138: She’s Under My Protection
Liana herself didn’t feel much about the congratulations from Felicia for the contract signing, as she and Sephirena hadn’t really signed a contract, just made a verbal agreement.
Liana wasn’t worried about Sephirena leaving, since she needed something from her, and besides, she had nowhere else to go.
“Would Lady Jacaranda like to rest at our headquarters for a while, or are you preparing to return?” Felicia asked.
Liana thought for a moment but decided not to stay in this place. The fewer people who knew about Sephirena’s situation, the better. However, as long as she didn’t actively mention it, most people probably wouldn’t know Sephirena’s true identity.
Still, Liana was quite good-hearted. She had taken advantage of Felicia once, so she should give her a little compensation. After all, you shear the sheep where the wool grows—the next time they met, she might be able to extract more benefits.
“In a few days, I’ll have Tari deliver twenty sets of cosmetics. Consider it a small reward for your performance today,” Liana said.
“Thank you very much, Lady Jacaranda.” Although Felicia was quite disdainful internally, she still had to appear very pleased on the surface.
Forget twenty sets; even a hundred sets wouldn’t earn the Angus Commerce Guild much money. This was what annoyed Felicia the most—little money but lots of trouble, and still having to treat the other person like a revered ancestor.
“By the way,” Liana suddenly remembered something very important.
“What else, Lady Jacaranda? Is there something else you want to purchase?” Felicia felt like dying. Why wouldn’t Liana leave?
“I suppose so?” Liana turned her gaze toward Tari. “How much is this little cat worth?”
“Hmm?”
