Chapter 81: Her Royal Highness’s Room
"By the way, Your Majesty, may I ask you a question?"
"What is it?"
"Are my parents... still alive?"
The plot had begun to change, the protagonist line had disappeared, and Liana wasn’t sure about the current status of her parents.
"They will come back, I promise you."
"I see." Liana relaxed slightly.
"As I said before, if you agree, you can become my adopted daughter, a member of the royal family," King Lisat said.
"Your Majesty, didn’t you just say that you’ve stepped back from ruling and won’t interfere in the power struggles between the nobility and the royal family?" Liana asked with a faint smile.
"But this was a decision I made while I was still in power, so it doesn’t count as interference," King Lisat responded cheerfully, "So, what is your decision?"
"I’m not very interested in royal status. It’s too precious for me, and too troublesome. Besides, with my current reputation, joining the royal family would only bring harm to it."
"Most importantly, I still have my own tasks to complete, so I must give the same answer as before. I’m sorry, Your Majesty, but I cannot accept your kind offer." Liana refused politely.
If the original protagonist were still around, Liana might have agreed and simply taken a step back.
