Sharp screams continued to ring out.

Beneath the burning sky, a series of explosions echoed below. At the same time, a massive number of surviving crows burst into the air, their fierce and resentful eyes locking onto Mio as they swept toward him like a black torrent.

Crows—symbols of disaster and death.

But Mio stood firm. As he launched another wave of flames, countless system prompts flickered across his panel, one after another noting the absorption of crow genes.

"The more, the better."

A grin tugged at Mio's lips. He looked exhilarated rather than afraid. This number of crows wasn't nearly enough to threaten him. Even ten times more wouldn't have made a difference. After all, his unique ability ensured he could face death from anywhere without fear.

"Fire Dragon's Roar!"

Mio's voice thundered across the sky. In the next moment, his figure flashed below the crows, unleashing a torrent of blazing flames. The fire engulfed swaths of crows, incinerating them mid-flight. The system panel lit up again.

More genes.

In just that moment alone, nearly two to three thousand crow genes were absorbed into Mio's system.

It was the largest amount of the same type of gene he had ever collected.
