Crusader King

Chapter 109: Endless chain(10)

As the weirdly white glowing light slowly vanished, descending far beneath, into the endless sea of that very same light, or at least light of the same colour, turning the black stones that had been encasing the black goo into nothing but air, that very same greenish goo was left behind, now laying on the floor, pulsating as if life had truly just come from that goo that was now laying in front of Cades feet, slowly starting to squirm and move as if it was trying to reform but unable to, perhaps because of the lightning he had used.

The greenish glowing goo was slowly turning into a more physical appearance, abandoning it's semi-liquid state and instead starting to crawl apart as if made out of worms, but before it could do that Cade shad already summoned a dome-like shield to encase it under as he doubted that these worm-like creatures could bite or really do anything to the endless chain that the being would perhaps not even have been able to damage in it's previous form.

Cades watched with a slight smile curving his lips upwards as the worms suddenly began to panic as soon as they started to hit a wall that hindered them from going outwards, even more so than when they had lost their protective shielding just mere moments ago, resulting in them transforming into these gooey little abominations.

And as he watched the little gooey apparitions starting to panic he began to notice how they fell apart, transforming back into their liquid state as the greenish glow finally vanished, turning into a kind of golden light that had now condensed itself and was moving towards Cades at a surprisingly fast pace, causing Cades to look at it and stretch out his right hand, the only one he had left.

As the silver blade fell to the ground the golden apparition had already reached his hand, but instead of entering his body directly like all the other lights that had been appearing when he killed something up to now it instead started to curl up, the long snake-like light starting to transform and shine much brighter than before, until, a few seconds later, it just stopped shining completely and there was something in his hand, something physical.

In his hand there was something small, only about as big as a marble but much heavier than one, it was about as heavy as a small boulder a small child would heave up to prove their strength, though in this scenario it seemed quite a lot heavier due to the sheer difference in volumee.

It was cold and spread out a intent, an intent of movement, an intent he knew very well from the three stones Manug had given him, and at that point he began to think about what had happened back when Manug had truly died, what had happened when that golden stone had entered his body, about what had happened, about what he had simply did not wish to think off.
