Chapter 105: Others Eyes(5)
[Mangel Hader]
Mangel had grown much stronger than before, he had used his vengeance to grow stronger, and he did, until he reached the level of a lord, now he was training directly under the great mage who claimed to have vanquished Cades, the one without a name.
Well, actually, many divine and holy mages had no name because they willingly sacrificed their selves and being for the god or goddess they serve, an act that Manug himself did however not intent to follow, one he did however intent to follow was their act of living for an unimaginable amount of time, they live for over ten thousand years after all, prolonging their own natural live using transformative magic, so much so that the one he was currently learning from was abbou three hundred years old.
Another reason as to why they were even able to access the realm of the forsaken, the realm to which Cades was banished, the realm known as 'nowhere', a realm used to incarcerate or punish the worst offenders and deviants of the gods, or simply a realm for those unlucky enough to get stranded there.
In many a way Mangel felt sorry for him, but there was no way to undo it, no way for him to escape, after all, even divine beings and titans have been vanquished to there, beings capable of controlling an entire planet, and yes, he had studied up on the ranking system that was often used.
The ranking system that was used in the world of rescue and most of the worlds controlled by gods was the following, at least from what he had figured out from ancient text and boastful speeches from his new master, the nameless mage.
First come the sequences, the first steps to the beginning, then comes the apex, a rank of falsehood and strength of no renown, strength that simply wounds oneself, then comes the rank of the lord, with the strength ever so slightly diminishing but all else growing, then comes the reader, also known as the transcribe, a rank he wasn't entirely sure about, but the name seemed kind of self-explanatory.
He assumed that it had something to do with reading something that the current him was unable to even imagine, perhaps this was the true first step to reaching the end of the journey, either way, after that there came the scribe, or at least it was called as such, but it was often also referred to as the enchanting rank, a rank to make something do something, as such many a artifact came from such a rank, at least many of the lesser holy items supposedly came from this.
After that information became more detailed and at the same time much less conclusive, mostly because this rank was often named as the rank of terror, a rank of suffrage, a rank of pain, but it was also a rank that referred to a single species, a species that almost every ehetrian had heard of once, through stories, nightmares or even just lullabies, of a kurakkan.
Kurakkans were supposedly often members of this rank, of the rank of the formless, which made quite a lot of sense when one considered that there base form was that of a gooey sphere, something that had quite surprised Mangel when his master had first talked about them, referring to them as creations of the so-called 'Old Man', a being that was also known under many other names but seemed to be fairly terrifying.
