Crusader King

Chapter 57: Manug(6)

"What do you mean by '108th order'?"

The golden eyes of the archer began shrinking, the golden glow reducing itself to more of a golden pupil as the archers breathing normalized and his entire body relaxed, seemingly accepting his fate whatever that may be, and changing his seating position, resulting in the robes falling of and showing that his entire body was covered in a light, brightly glistening, white plated armor and finally sitting cross-legged and looking directly onto Cades, analysing him while exclaiming something that would truly confuse Cades.

"I'm of the 108th order, you know, you rank up each time you kill a certain amount of relatively powerful creatures and grow stronger each time..."

So he was indeed of a different world, a different world with a different way that magic worked, was he perhaps really of a divine church, did he perhaps really gain the capability of doing that through a god ?

Cades intended to ask further, but first, now that the archer had calmed down enough to really interact with him, showing just how interesting he was, and finally Cades asked the question that had been burning on his lips, right besides the bleeding crust that still resided from when he first started talking and ripped them open.

And then he began talking in a leisurely voice, similarly to the archer in front of him, trying to lull him into revealing more and more secrets, or perhaps just hungering for social interaction so much that he was just convincing himself that he was trying to trick him.

"Why did you attack me, Manug ?"

Cades pronunciation of the name might've been wrong, but the weird overlaying effect still conveyed the meaning perfect, though the horrid pronunciation seemed to ever so slightly annoy the archer, well..

It would've been the same for Cades.
