Su Chengyu descended steadily back into the cave without any further incident.
Chang Li was the first to notice Su Chengyu’s return, having been worried ever since detecting the commotion at the mining site earlier, and immediately came over to check on Su Chengyu.
Seeing Su Chengyu safe and sound, her long-held anxiety finally eased considerably.
"Master, you..."
"It’s time to leave. The things at the mining site have been taken care of. Though there were some unexpected developments, the outcome could be considered a form of perfection."
Su Chengyu did not plan to say much about what transpired at the mining site. Those matters were still too distant for Chang Li at this point, and knowing too much would not be beneficial for her.
Wise as always, Chang Li seemed to understand this, nodding knowingly and asked, "Is there anything you need my help with, regarding... matters of the humans here?"
Though Su Chengyu outwardly maintained a detached stance towards the tribal people, Chang Li knew clearly that it was because Su Chengyu understood he would eventually leave and didn’t want the humans of the tribe to become overly dependent on him.
In his heart, Su Chengyu still harbored a sense of compassion for his fellow kin.
"I have engraved several stone slabs while at leisure. Deliver them to the designated places according to the standards inscribed. It doesn’t require any elaborate explanation; whatever they can comprehend from it is up to them."
"Understood, Master."
Chang Li nodded without questioning why Su Chengyu would do this, nor was she concerned with what Su Chengyu was leaving behind for them.
