All three tribes were alien races from other planes, enslaved in the Kunwu Realm by the Kunwu Immortal.
The Desert Devil Scorpion Clan was on par with the Snake Tribe, and occasional skirmishes would break out between the two.

Su Chengyu descended through the clouds and, in this deserted wilderness, found a relatively intact ancient ruin. After confirming there were no beasts or foreign tribes inside, he led Lin An in.
"This place should be safe enough," Lin An said after surveying the surroundings.

Su Chengyu laid down defensive seals outside the ruins, then brought out the alchemy furnace and all the medicinal ingredients needed for the Barrier Breaking Pill.
