Chapter 18: All That Matters
The first thing Eve did once her eyes flew open in the morning was hurry out of the bed, however as soon as she set her feet on the floor, she tripped, luckily catching herself on her palms and knees.
She was quick to stand to her feet, breathing out in relief that she hadn’t taken a fall.
"You are surprisingly very clumsy."
She slowly lifted her gaze at the sudden voice to meet a pair of golden eyes peering at her.
Malakai, hair in a low man bun and clad in sweatpants hanging low on his waist, looked at her, coffee in his grip.
She looked at him.
He stared at her.
She slowly cracked a crooked smile. She knew what he was going to say; the glasses, she should have gone for them first before getting out of bed.
"It’s not the glasses. I’m just long sighted."
"I know." Malakai nodded and took a sip of his coffee. "You’re just very clumsy."
She shot a brow at him. "I’m working on it." Her gaze followed him as he walked over to the mini table close to the bed and picked up her glasses.
He set his coffee aside before returning back to her. Eve craned her neck to stare at him, even though he was a blur due to being so close to her. She could only see him properly from afar without the glasses.
