Chapter 2823
"Travel together?"
Carson Flores was a bit surprised, but even more delighted. He was, after all, an outsider, while Kaelithra Nixon was the little Disciple of True Sage Grand Void. With her coming along, wouldn’t things be much safer?
"Nixon, where are you headed?"
Originally Carson had always called her Fairy Nixon. Later, once everyone got familiar, he started calling her Senior Sister instead. Anyway, no matter how you counted it, Carson was the youngest.
Halvion Ward spoke up, "My master has a friend who is celebrating a birthday and sent an invitation to Grand Void Mountain. Master isn’t here, and normally I should go on his behalf. But I have to sit in town at Grand Void Mountain, so we’re having Little Junior Sister represent Master at the birthday banquet."
"That elder’s Cave Mansion isn’t too far from the Red River Mountains. Little Junior Sister originally planned to wait a bit longer before setting out, but now that you’re going to the Red River Mountains, you can travel together. That way she won’t be lonely on the road."
"Little Junior Sister may have very high Cultivation Talent and her strength is decent, but ever since she started cultivating, she has rarely left Grand Void Mountain and lacks tempering experience. With her going out alone, as Senior Brother I really can’t help feeling a bit uneasy."
"Mr. Flores, you may be young in years, but along the way you’ve seen all kinds of human nature and are rich in experience. So I’ll trouble you to travel together with Little Junior Sister, so you can look after each other."
Kaelithra Nixon pouted. "Senior Brother, I’m at Peak Great Land Supreme Immortal at least, and I’ve gone out traveling before. How am I as bad as you make me sound?"
Halvion Ward looked at Kaelithra Nixon with a squinting smile. "You’ve traveled, sure. Need me to talk about all the things you did out there?"
Kaelithra Nixon’s face flushed red all of a sudden, and her tone turned anxious. "You’re not allowed to say!"
Halvion Ward laughed heartily. "With you traveling alongside Mr. Flores, with all his experience, I can be at ease. And even though you’re the Senior Sister, you can’t go throwing your Senior Sister weight around. Whatever comes up, listen to him."
Kaelithra Nixon pursed her lips and gave a soft "Oh."
Halvion Ward turned to Carson Flores again. "Leap Void Beasts only exist in ancient records. Finding one definitely won’t be easy. You don’t need to rush. Since you’ve come to the Bitter Sea Immortal Domain, treat it as a bit of traveling around."
Carson Flores smiled. "I’m not in a hurry. Man proposes, heaven disposes—I’ve long since learned to take it as it comes."
Halvion Ward smiled. "Good. Off you go then, and may the road be smooth."
After bidding farewell to Halvion Ward, Carson Flores and Kaelithra Nixon left Grand Void Mountain.
Kaelithra Nixon asked curiously, "Where’s Nereida Nash? Does she just stay in the Palace of Seven Beauties and never come out?"
Carson Flores explained, "I’m planning on pushing ahead on the road, so I had her stay inside to keep Zane company. If you’re worried you’ll be bored on the way, I can have her come out and keep you company?"
Kaelithra Nixon quickly shook her head. "No need. Just let her stay with Zane. I was just asking. You’re here, aren’t you? How would I get bored?"
Carson had originally been worried that a woman being alone with him on the road might feel awkward, so that’s why he’d asked. But seeing her respond this way, he dropped the idea of having Nereida Nash come out.
It was just traveling anyway. One person was enough for the road—why tire out two?
She kept Snow Zane company, which was great. With her around, Snow Zane’s mood had been much better these past years.
"Alright then. Since we’re not pressed for time, let’s take the Flying Boat and drift along slowly."
"Okay!"
Whether using Carefree Wander or the Ground Shrinking Technique, traveling that way was fast, sure, but they were both Space Divine Powers and consumed a lot of Spiritual Power. The Flying Boat was simpler: just slot in some Sealing Spirit Stones and you were good. The speed might be a bit slower, but it was comfortable.
The Flying Boat headed eastward. The two of them chatted idly onboard, and the topic turned to Medical Practice.
Carson Flores’s Medical Practice was different from the Medical Practice Kaelithra Nixon cultivated. It was like how Carson’s cooking and Halvion Ward’s cooking were very different—the forms were different, but the underlying principles were connected.
Kaelithra Nixon listened with great interest and started discussing things with Carson. The atmosphere instantly turned warm and relaxed.
"You know Medical Practice, you can cook, you can do Alchemy. You’re not that old, but you know quite a lot of stuff..."
Carson Flores smiled. "I can get by a bit, but I’m not truly proficient. When it really counts, they don’t amount to much."
Kaelithra Nixon laughed. "Now that’s you being modest. Oh right, could you tell me about your past? I heard you came out of a mortal world without any Cultivators..."
Carson Flores nodded. "Yeah. The Medical Practice and cooking I learned are all from that world. Compared to the Immortal Realm they probably don’t measure up, but they do have their own unique traits. After all, it’s a whole world’s worth of learning."
Kaelithra Nixon nodded, agreeing with Carson’s words. "Right. A world’s accumulated knowledge will always have its own distinctive insights. How did you get onto the path of cultivation?"
With nothing else to do as they rode along, Carson began telling his story.
Once he got started, Kaelithra Nixon was completely drawn in.
She listened for a long time and asked all sorts of questions, and they eventually got to the Ten Thousand Immortals Domain—up to Carson’s current level.
Kaelithra Nixon sighed in admiration. "Carson, you’re really incredible. To fight your way alone to the strength you have today, that’s just amazing. Among all the people I know, no one can compare to you..."
