Chapter 2803: Oh No, My Identity Has Been Exposed!
In the Endless Sea Domain, the void suddenly twisted, and Carson Flores, Nerisse Blaine, and Theo appeared in midair.
Nerisse Blaine looked back; the distorted space had already recovered at lightning speed.
Carson Flores finally let out a breath of relief and laughed. "Although Immortal Gathering Island has always been very courteous and principled, being on someone else’s turf never feels truly safe. Out here, at least we’re free..."
Nerisse Blaine pursed her lips in a smile. "Did you do something shady? Why are you this scared?"
Heh, you actually hit the nail on the head!
I really did something bad—I abducted Immortal Gathering Island’s flower maiden. But since she’s in the Ethereal Pagoda, Carson Flores wasn’t at all worried about anyone sensing her.
Carson Flores hadn’t planned on telling Nerisse Blaine about this. After all, for her, not knowing was the best outcome. Even if they traced it back to him someday, at least she wouldn’t be implicated.
Carson Flores glanced around in all directions, not even sure where they were right now. Then he chuckled. "Come on, let’s find an island. I’m going to make good on my promise—meat and Immortal Wine on me!"
Nerisse Blaine agreed happily. "Okay!"
The two people and one beast wandered about at random and soon found a small, deserted barren island.
"Let’s do it here!"
"Okay!"
Nerisse Blaine watched Carson Flores lay out all kinds of tableware, looking quite curious. "You’re always this well-prepared?"
Carson Flores laughed. "Enjoying good food is inherently a very pleasant thing. Even the process of cooking can relax you. Since we’re doing it, we might as well be thorough and do it right."
Carson Flores had all sorts of delicious ingredients stocked up in his Space Ring. While preparing the food for himself and Nerisse Blaine, he didn’t forget about Theo either, skewering a huge chunk of top-quality meat on a spit and roasting it slowly.
Nerisse Blaine watched Carson Flores cook with great interest, asking him curious little questions now and then. Carson Flores answered offhandedly while he worked, and the atmosphere was very cheerful.
Once the delicious dishes were laid out on the table, Carson Flores took out some Immortal Wine, poured for the two of them, and said with a smile, "If others knew I was having such a private meal with Fairy Blaine, I’d probably become the object of everyone’s envy."
Nerisse Blaine picked up her chopsticks, took a bite, and as soon as the food entered her mouth, her eyes lit up a few degrees brighter.
"Your cooking is really impressive. This is so good!"
Carson Flores laughed. "Honestly, my cooking is average. It’s mainly that these ingredients are great."
Carson Flores raised his cup and clinked it lightly against Nerisse Blaine’s. "Fairy Blaine, thank you for taking care of me these past days. A toast to you."
Nerisse Blaine chuckled softly. "There you go again. If anyone should be toasting, it ought to be me toasting you—you’ve saved my life twice, remember?"
Carson Flores laughed. "Then let’s not dwell on it. Anyway, we both managed to accomplish our own goals, and that’s what matters."
Nerisse Blaine took a sip of wine and fixed her gaze on Carson Flores. "Are you planning to leave the Ten Thousand Immortals Domain?"
Carson Flores nodded. "Yeah. I’ll take care of some personal business first, then head to the Crimson Immortal Domain."
Nerisse Blaine blinked. "We’re friends, right?"
Carson Flores smiled. "Sure, unless you don’t think so."
Nerisse Blaine stared straight at Carson Flores, her beautiful smile carrying a subtle shift. "Since we’re friends, and we’ve already left Immortal Gathering Island, isn’t there something you should be telling me?"
Carson Flores was slightly taken aback. "Fairy Blaine, what would I need to tell you?"
Could Nerisse Blaine know that he’d rescued Zorvyn Harrison?
Nerisse Blaine smiled. "You thought you’d pulled off a perfect ’deceive the heavens and cross the sea,’ that no one knew a thing. But actually, I know everything. I just chose not to say it."
Carson Flores’ heart gave a jolt, but then he relaxed and said, "Alright, I admit it—I secretly took Zorvyn Harrison out. But this has nothing to do with you. It was all my own doing. Even if something goes wrong, I won’t drag you into it."
Nerisse Blaine’s expression froze in surprise. "You took Zorvyn Harrison out?"
Seeing the shock on Nerisse Blaine’s face, Carson Flores was stunned himself.
"That’s not what you were talking about?"
Did I just get tricked into confessing?
Nerisse Blaine’s gaze grew even more subtle. "You really are fearless, bold beyond belief. So now, tell me—should I keep calling you Kaelen Flores, or start calling you Carson Flores?"
Carson Flores’ eyes shifted slightly, shock roaring through his heart. How could Nerisse Blaine know that he was Carson Flores?
Though he was surprised, Carson Flores wasn’t afraid.
First, Nerisse Blaine’s strength wasn’t above his own. Second, from the way she was acting, she wasn’t looking to make herself his enemy. And third, Theo was here too.
Carson Flores lifted his gaze and looked at Nerisse Blaine.
Nerisse Blaine smiled at him, wearing a slightly smug "you hid so deep and I still caught you" expression.
Since things had gotten to this point, continuing to quibble and deny it wouldn’t mean much. Carson Flores smiled faintly. "You and I have never met, so how did you decide I was Carson Flores? Especially when I don’t even look like myself right now..."
Nerisse Blaine said with squinting eyes and a grin, "As a wanted criminal of the Myriad Immortals Palace, having your identity exposed by me doesn’t make you nervous at all?"
