Chapter 2795: I Might Not Trust Others, But How Could I Not Trust You?
"You probably haven’t seen your father or any other Starry Sky Magical Beasts, so where did you get your related knowledge?"
Carson Flores asked curiously, "By the way, what’s your name?"
"My name is Theo, my mother gave me this name. My father left a memory crystal, and after I absorbed it, I knew everything I should know."
Carson thought for a moment and asked, "We previously discovered a Black Demon Cave that goes hundreds of kilometers down to Earth’s Core. It’s dense with Demonic Qi and even nurtured a large group of Demon Beast Spiders, but there are no Starry Sky Magical Beasts inside. Does that have anything to do with you?"
Theo answered, "That was the place where my father and mother lived years ago. Later, my father left, and my mother moved away with me to come here. Afterward, my mother passed away, leaving only me to live here. I’ve been waiting, waiting for the day I grow up and can leave this world to find my father."
Carson asked, "Why do you want to find Crimson Mad? He’s not your father, is he?"
Theo answered, "The Starry Sky Beast Clan is a race, not very numerous, and they might all know each other. Besides, the Starry Sky Magical Beasts have an Ancestral Territory. Even if Crimson Mad doesn’t know my father, once it knows about the Ancestral Territory, I can return there and surely find my father."
Carson had a realization; he originally wanted to ask if, even if you find the Ancestral Territory and other Starry Sky Magical Beasts, whether the Starry Sky Beast Clan would acknowledge you as a mixed-blood descendant. But thinking this guy was quite pitiful, he didn’t ask aloud.
Moreover, Theo’s ultimate goal is not to gain recognition from the Starry Sky Beast Clan but to find his father.
"Alright, let’s make a deal. If I encounter any trouble along the way, you help me, and once we reach the Crimson Immortal Domain, I’ll help you gather information."
Theo nodded, "Okay, but don’t deceive me, or I’ll kill you!"
Carson chuckled, "I’m planning to go to the Crimson Immortal Domain anyway, gathering information is just a matter of speaking, no need to deceive you. Besides, you’re so powerful; the consequences of deceiving you would be too severe for me to bear."
Theo snorted, slightly proud, "At least you know."
By now, the oppressive Demonic Qi around Carson and the others had disappeared. Carson flew over to Theo, glanced at him a few times, "Your appearance is quite different from the Starry Sky Magical Beasts, but upon closer inspection, you can still be recognized. Wouldn’t it be easy to be recognized if you come along with me?"
Theo didn’t respond, but in the next second, long hairs suddenly grew over its body. These hairs concealed its physical traits, making it no longer resemble a Starry Sky Magical Beast.
Carson laughed, "This disguise is quite good, so it won’t be an issue. I’ll just say you’re a demonic beast I’ve subdued, and I doubt anyone will suspect."
Theo pursed its lips, evidently not too pleased with Carson’s statement, but ultimately did not refute, knowing it was the most fitting and suitable explanation.
Seeing Theo not refute, Carson turned to Maedryn Cobb, "Cobb, this matter is a secret, please swear an oath of secrecy, or we’ll likely encounter many troubles..."
Without further ado, Maedryn Cobb cleanly and swiftly expelled blood, taking the oath.
Nerisse Blaine chuckled, "Then I’ll take an oath too."
Carson laughed, "Fairy Blaine, don’t tease. I’m always with you, relying on your protection, how can I not trust you?"
Nerisse’s eyes sparkled, a sweet smile emerging, "Alright, then I won’t vow. But if I accidentally let it slip, don’t regret it."
Carson smiled, "As long as I leave Immortal Gathering Island, when I’m gone, even if you tell others, it doesn’t matter. I’m just a loose cultivator, with no fixed abode, who could find me?"
Maedryn Cobb silently pursed his lips beside them, but stayed silent.
Carson’s different attitude toward Nerisse Blaine didn’t seem inappropriate to him; the two were naturally close and had teamed up to hunt Crystal Scorpions, why compare yourself with them?
Moreover, it’s thanks to them that his life was saved, making an oath to keep secrets is an insignificant request.
Seeing Maedryn Cobb make his vow, Carson relaxed.
If he hadn’t sworn to keep the secret, Carson might have considered eliminating him, for fear that the matter would reach Avidan Hartman’s ears, causing unforeseen complications.
Who knows if they might try to capture Theo, after all, enslaving a Starry Sky Magical Beast offers incalculable benefits!
Safety first!
Having settled Maedryn Cobb, Carson turned to Theo, tentatively asking, "Since you’re leaving here, can we kill all the Crystal Scorpions around?"
