The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 2781: So I Was the Most Foolish One All Along!

A figure slowly emerged from the darkness, like a ghost hidden in the shadows.

Raelith Rhodes knew he had been exposed for a while now, so he no longer hid, and directly rose into the air from where he stood, summoning his Life-bound Magic Treasure, a blue water jug. Countless streams surged from it, like a mighty river, instantly wrapping him up.

Raelith Rhodes stared intently at the figure. When it got closer, Raelith’s face showed a look of astonishment.

"Kaelen Flores!"

After Raelith’s shock, his expression changed dramatically, showing a face full of joy: "I’m so glad you’re okay. I rushed quickly to catch up, but couldn’t find you. I thought something unfortunate might have happened to you!"

Carson Flores smiled slightly: "I’m fine, Elder Rhodes, sorry to disappoint you."

Raelith Rhodes asked with a puzzled expression: "Disappoint? Kaelen Flores, what do you mean by that?"

Carson Flores smiled calmly: "After I left, you instantly killed the surrounding Crystal Scorpions and quickly caught up. You clearly could have caught up sooner, but you deliberately lagged behind, waiting for more and more Crystal Scorpions to kill me. Seeing me now, isn’t it quite unexpected?"

Raelith Rhodes looked at Carson Flores in shock: "Kaelen Flores, have you misunderstood something?"

Carson Flores chuckled and pointed to the Barrier above: "After I saw you following, I purposefully went deeper into the Abyss, to not only distance myself from Maedryn Cobb but also from the surface. Now the Barrier is set up; what is the point of arguing with me?"

Raelith Rhodes stared at Carson Flores, his smile gradually fading, replaced by a full gloom.

"Since when did you realize I harbored ill intentions?"

Carson Flores laughed: "Unnecessary kindness often hides deceit and theft. You seem warm-hearted, but your jealousy runs deep. When Nerisse Blaine got closer to me, it was like I’d burned your ancestors’ graves."

"Originally, I avoided you on purpose, and since you thought I lacked any competitive edge, you didn’t pay attention to me. But when I saved Nerisse Blaine in front of the giant Magic Spider, your opinion of me changed."

"Ultimately, my identity as a Loose Cultivator led you to underestimate me. You thought someone like me could be killed without any consequences, so you prepared to eliminate me without hesitation. If my background were as strong as Nerisse Blaine’s, you surely wouldn’t dare act this way."

"I showed weak abilities, so everyone looked down on me. Yet you took the initiative to invite me, offering me a 20% share. Even Maedryn Cobb found it unbelievable. You think I’d see it as normal, overwhelmed by the 20% points you offered me?"

"Your proposal to come here was partly because of more Crystal Scorpions but the real reason was because it was far from the surface, covered by Demonic Qi. Even if you attacked me here, people would think you were killing Crystal Scorpions."

"At the outset, you tested me verbally. Learning I was a Sword Cultivator must have reassured you somewhat. After all, it’s well-known that although Sword Cultivators are aggressive, their methods are limited. As long as the Realm can crush, killing me wouldn’t be complex."

"During the first battle, you could’ve stopped them all but deliberately let a Crystal Scorpion through to test me. After confirming my ability, you deliberately waited a day and then suggested coming here to prepare for action, thinking no one would know. In fact, everyone knows your intentions."

Raelith Rhodes’s complexion turned as dark as water. Carson Flores’s words completely exposed his inner thoughts, making him increasingly alarmed.

Since he knows everything but still dared to come, what does that imply?

It implies he isn’t afraid, confident in dealing with him!

"Does Maedryn Cobb know too?"

Carson Flores laughed heartily: "Why do you think Maedryn Cobb doesn’t know? I reckon when you invited me to join the team, saying it was out of gratitude, Maedryn Cobb guessed you were going to kill me."

Raelith Rhodes gnawed his teeth and asked: "Then why didn’t he mention anything?"

Carson Flores smiled: "Maedryn Cobb was raised by a Nightmare Beast, accustomed to fighting, living by jungle rules, survival of the fittest. You’re targeting not him but me, and he’s completely unrelated to me. Why would he offend you for me?"

"His 50% share is unaffected. Thus, he’ll pretend he doesn’t know anything. Conversely, if I returned, he wouldn’t probe how you died. I’d tell him you were surrounded by Crystal Scorpions and died at their hands, and he’d simply accept it."

Raelith Rhodes was dumbfounded.

He prided himself on his cleverness, believing everything was flawless. But listening to Carson Flores now made him realize he thought others were fools, when he himself was the biggest fool.

Carson Flores, why speak so much unhurriedly with me? It’s because he knew Maedryn Cobb wouldn’t follow down, only waiting above for the murderous you to return.

Raelith Rhodes glared at Carson Flores: "You’re a Triple Realm Great Land Fairy. What makes you think you can kill me? Could it be that the Black Snake is yours?"
